The Manager, Manufacturing Systems Solutions will provide solution leadership and functional ownership for manufacturing and supply chain systems across North America, with primary focus on JD Edwards and connected procurement, inventory, supplier, logistics, EDI, and factory solutions. Acting as the solution architect for this domain, they will translate business capabilities into end-to-end solution designs spanning processes, applications, integrations, data, security, controls, and operational support. They will work closely with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, enterprise architects, cybersecurity, external suppliers, and delivery partners to define scalable solutions and drive execution from business architecture and requirements through design, deployment, and operation. In the near term, this role will concentrate on supporting North America manufacturing operations while aligning solutions with broader Smart Factory, and enterprise standardization objectives. We seek candidates who demonstrate initiative, structured problem-solving, delivery accountability, and the ability to communicate complex business and technical topics. The role is primarily based in Florence, SC.

On a typical day you will:

  • Drive solutions that enhance JD Edwards and connected manufacturing and supply chain capabilities, including procurement, inventory, supplier collaboration, logistics, EDI, material planning, and operational reporting.
  • Develop solution option assessments and recommendations that clearly articulate business value, cost, risk, dependencies, scalability, and operational impact.
  • Define solution principles and architecture guardrails that promote standardization, reuse, secure integration, supportability, and minimal site-specific customization.
  • Lead capability definition, requirements discovery, process mapping, functional specifications, business rules, data requirements, non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and traceability from business need through production deployment.
  • Lead solution design across business process, application, integration, data, security, and infrastructure layers; document target-state architecture, system boundaries, design decisions, and transition plans; and guide development, testing, cutover, and stabilization.
  • Lead supplier-facing and partner-enabled initiatives, including supplier onboarding, EDI transactions, logistics integrations, training, adoption, and issue resolution.
  • Support multiple workstreams by coordinating assignments, managing dependencies and blocking issues, maintaining risks and decisions, and facilitating timely resolution of challenges.
  • Evaluate business requests and production issues to identify root causes, clarify business impact, compare solution options, and make architecture recommendations that minimize unnecessary customization, technical debt, duplication, and long-term support risk.
  • Provide technical and functional direction to consultants and delivery partners, review solution designs and estimates, challenge assumptions, enforce architecture guardrails, monitor commitments, and ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Lead the people side of change by explaining the business rationale, preparing users for new processes, supporting training, and driving adoption across factories and functions.
  • Maintain accurate system and process documentation, provide concise progress reporting, and ensure cost-effective use of resources to deliver measurable business outcomes.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, supply chain, operations, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing systems, supply chain technology, enterprise applications, or a similar environment
  • Strong functional and solution-design experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne in a manufacturing or distribution context, including procurement, inventory, manufacturing, sales orders, supplier management, MRP, logistics, or related finance transactions
  • Demonstrated experience functioning as a solution architect or lead solution designer, taking complex capabilities from business requirements through target-state architecture, functional and integration design, testing, deployment, and production stabilization
  • Experience designing enterprise integrations involving EDI, supplier platforms, logistics providers, middleware, APIs, event or batch interfaces, and data ownership across system boundaries
  • Ability to create and communicate end-to-end solution architecture covering business processes, application dependencies, master and transactional data, interfaces, workflows, security roles, controls, resilience, and exception handling
  • Experience partnering with factory users, business process owners, developers, infrastructure teams, and external delivery partners
  • High level of collaboration and interpersonal skill, with the ability to communicate complex ideas, surface risks, anticipate objections, and influence decisions across business and technology stakeholders
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, navigate ambiguity, prioritize critical work, and drive actions and decisions to closure
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong analytical, architecture communication, vendor-management, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to simplify complex solution options, explain trade-offs, and drive clear design decisions
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with JD Edwards integrations involving warehouse, supplier, transportation, labeling, mobile-scanning, shop-floor, or factory systems
  • Experience with EDI purchase orders, acknowledgements, advance shipping notices, receipts, invoices, or supplier onboarding
  • Knowledge of manufacturing master data, item structures, locations, bills of material, routings, work centers, and inventory transactions
