Your responsibilities:
  • Managing the IT Support and Asset Compliance teams to define, create and deliver solutions that are aligned with the departmental, divisional, and organizational strategic objectives.
  • Fostering a high-performing, inclusive and service-oriented team supporting employee development, engagement, and succession planning
  • Supports the responsible adoption and rollout of automation, data and evolving digital capabilities, ensuring effective integration into end-user IT services and seamless experience for staff and clients.
  • Leading the delivery and continuous improvement of end-user IT services, ensuring consistent and high-quality experience across all support channels, and advancing WCB's digital workplace capabilities.
  • Taking an active role in the performance management process by completing goal setting, interim reviews, and year-end reviews on a timely basis and soliciting ongoing feedback.
  • Providing guidance and leadership to the team leads and team members, ensuring they have the resources and tools to support and quickly resolve ongoing issues.
  • Providing oversight of IT Service Continuity (Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery) practices, ensuring alignment with organizational business continuity requirements and priorities.
  • Ensuring maturity of IT Service Management practices including Incident, Knowledge, and Problem Management.
  • Developing and reporting on capital and operating IT budgets including budget preparation, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Providing leadership for effective and efficient asset lifecycle management practices, standardization, optimization compliance, and contract negotiation
  • Leading the process to resolve any vendor audits or concerns related to assets such as software licenses.
  • Managing ongoing development and maintenance of BTS' Service Level Agreements with the organization and reporting on deviations or risks to the SLAs.
  • Developing and monitoring the SLAs with clients, ensuring root cause analysis is undertaken, and appropriate measures are carried out to ensure problems do not reoccur.
  • Expectation to exercise a high degree of initiative and independence of action requiring no supervision or specific direction.
  • The abilities, skills, and reputation of the incumbent will have considerable influence on the credibility, effectiveness, and success of BTS.


Your experience and skills:
  • University degree at a bachelor's or master's level in Computing Science, Information Systems, or other related fields.
  • Several years of IT service delivery, budget, procurement, and business/industry experience, combined with direct IT leadership responsibility in managing teams in a technical environment.
  • Requires strong business acumen together with a comprehension of modern technology systems to ensure deployment of solutions that enable and are aligned with WCB business strategies.
  • Must be strategic, progressive, self-motivated with extensive knowledge of IT technologies and financial management.
  • High dedication to customer service levels is imperative.
  • Strong leadership skills and a high degree of technical sophistication are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are crucial.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment by initiating and implementing change is also crucial.
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders such as service providers.
  • Ability to motivate, plan, direct and evaluate people and activities combined with leadership skills and experience in recruitment, performance development, team building, coaching, and mentoring.


Salary: $129,688 - $162,082 per annum (Pay Grade 15)

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with a blend of remote work and on-site presence at our Edmonton office. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
