US - Tax - Indirect Tax Technology and Transformation - Manager

Our mission is to build, sell and deliver differentiated tax technology solutions that enable our clients to manage their indirect tax obligations more efficiently and accurately. We focus on two key areas: implementation/delivery and technology creation/support. By providing comprehensive and reliable solutions that help our clients achieve their business objectives while minimizing their tax risks, we strive to be the leading provider of indirect tax technology solutions in the market.

As a manager, you'll continuously enhance your proficiencies in the design, promotion and delivery of major technology tools, including application development, data acquisition and transformation, and data analytics and visualization/reporting. You'll work side-by-side with tax-technical subject matter professionals (SMPs) to develop and deploy data and technology solutions that will enable our tax-technical SMPs to efficiently and effectively deliver quality tax consulting, with timely and responsive services and work products that meet and/or exceed client expectations.

Your key responsibilities

We'll look to you to use technology to accelerate and enhance delivery of indirect tax services and actively participate as member of pursuit teams and service delivery teams supporting various client projects including working with internal and external stakeholders, developing transformative solutions, and fostering deep client relationships. You will contribute toward developing a technically diverse and talented team, all while handing activities that focus on quality and commercial value.

To qualify for the role you must have
  • A bachelor's degree in technology, information science, accounting, or finance and minimum of 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and minimum 4 years of related work experience
  • Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to a state Bar
  • Hands-on technical experience with expertise in delivering innovative, data-driven solutions using modern analytics and AI technologies
  • Experience with developing solutions using Microsoft Azure, IBM watsonx, or Databricks stack
  • A strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies and leveraging them to optimize and transform business processes
  • Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance databases, particularly using Microsoft SQL Server, to support robust analytics and data-driven decision-making
  • Strong communication skills in managing stakeholders, framing value propositions, and influencing strategic decisions
  • Adaptive mindset allowing for responsiveness to evolving customer needs, market conditions, and technology trends
  • Strong organization and time management skills, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment
  • Management experience with cross-functional project teams, mentoring less experienced personnel, and fostering a culture of high performance and innovation
  • Ability to travel as required to support client engagements and foster strong, trust-based relationships

What we offer you
  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $142,600 to $261,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $171,200 to $297,200. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
