Your contribution!

The Hydro Station Manager works in a small team environment to operate and maintain run of river hydroelectric facilities in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements. The Rutherford Creek power plant also serves as a hub for other nearby plants for the purposes of shipping and receiving, training and other centralized functions.

Your day-to-day!
  • Operate the hydroelectric power plants by way of conducting and documenting all regular monitoring and maintenance;
  • Carry out all actions required to optimize the output and production of the power plants;
  • Participate in monitoring and execution of a Preventative Maintenance program for plants and facilities equipment including the electrical and mechanical testing and repair of equipment;
  • Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, pneumatic and hydraulic drawings;
  • Participate in the daily work planning and operations activities;
  • Carry out all necessary actions for the troubleshooting and resolution of alarms generated by the hydroelectric power plants to minimize downtime (availability 24 hours a day) when on duty;
  • Employees are required to take turns being on-call (standby) on a rotating schedule for emergencies and situations requiring immediate action related to production and/or security;
  • Manage and/or assist any specialized contractors/consultants needed to perform maintenance and repairs at the power plants;
  • Support regional plant operations for shipping and receiving;
  • Assist and prepare the site for training activities;
  • Provide support and coverage for the Miller Creek power plant when required;
  • Participate in power line isolation for different facilities;
  • Adhere to and implement the Occupational Health and Safety standards and Innergex.


Your skills, our requirements!
  • Relevant or equivalent training and experience to the role, experience as a Journeyman industrial Millwright or Industrial Mechanic is preferred;
  • Possess a BC driver's license in good standing, class 1 driver's licence would be an asset;
  • Training completed as a Red Seal Millwright or similar;
  • Must be a "hands-on", self-starter;
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and computer);
  • Commitment to further education relevant to the role: Innergex provides formal and in-house training, as required;
  • Experience with 4-wheel drives and snowmobiles is required;
  • Experience with hydro plant operations, an asset;
  • Experience in heavy equipment operation, an asset;
  • Experience in instrumentation, an asset;
  • Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices, an asset;
  • MS Office Suite;
  • Experience with computer-based control applications.

  • The position is based at the Rutherford Creek site.
  • This position is an O3 level.

Pay Transparency Statement

Compensation for roles at Innergex varies based on a wide range of factors, including skill set, education, and relevant experience. We are committed to pay equity and take internal equity among current team members into account when determining any final offer. To support pay transparency, the hiring range for this position is $83,000-$98,000 per year, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Your final base salary, if hired, will be determined by factors such as your skills, education, and experience, along with our commitment to internal equity.

Please note that it is not typical to hire at the top of the hiring range, as doing so limits opportunities for future salary growth. Innergex also offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
