This person will report to our Vice President, Human Resources and will oversee our growing team as it relates to talent management, compliance, employee relations, performance management and learning and development. The ideal candidate will have experience building teams in a high growth environment. The right person will challenge conventional HR thinking in service of finding unique solutions.
General Description Duties & Responsibilities- Serves as an HR point of contact for the Arlington office.
- Coach and guide leadership and employees on employee relations matters, conduct internal investigations regarding workplace issues and provide guidance and recommendations for a resolution.
- Advise on matters related to compliance and employment law.
- Manage employee onboarding and off-boarding.
- Protect our people and organization by supporting the creation of accessible HR policies and procedures that are compliant with federal and local laws and enhance VG's culture.
- Support planning and implementation of company-wide HR initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures and best practices
- Manage the performance management process including performance reviews, disciplinary documentation, and performance improvement plans.
- Lead HR team members and serve as a primary point of escalation.
QualificationsRequired experience- 10 or more years of experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner or HR generalist.
- Expert with modern ATS and HRIS platforms.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships while remaining attentive and responsive to the unique needs of each team member.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
Preferred Experience- Workday experience is a plus
Required Education- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Licensing & Certifications- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
