The Human Resources Manager will lead and execute a broad range of HR functions to ensure efficient operations and a positive employee experience within a professional accounting firm environment. This role serves as a strategic partner to leadership, providing both tactical and operational guidance across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, payroll and benefits oversight, and HR programs. The HR Manager acts as a trusted advisor, aligning HR initiatives with business goals while maintaining high standards of confidentiality, accuracy, and service.
Key Objectives:Strategic HR Leadership- Partner with firm leadership and external Human Capital teams to align HR strategies with organizational goals
- Provide guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, programs, and best practices that support culture, compliance, and business objectives
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer processes
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and execute effective hiring strategies
- Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience
- Facilitate new hire orientation and support benefits enrollment
Performance Management & Talent Development- Lead and administer the performance review process, ensuring consistency and timeliness
- Support managers in performance management, employee engagement, and development planning
- Drive employee growth initiatives, including training, leadership development, and career pathing
- Contribute to building a strong pipeline of future leaders within the firm
Employee Relations & Engagement- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace concerns
- Manage employee relations matters, including documentation, investigations, and resolution of issues with professionalism and discretion
- Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives and day-to-day support
Payroll & Benefits Oversight- Provide oversight of payroll processes, including reviewing payroll data, conducting prechecks, and ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Monitor and audit payroll inputs such as time tracking, PTO balances, and adjustments
- Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing
- Support benefits administration, including new hire enrollment and open enrollment processes
(Note: This role oversees payroll accuracy but does not directly process payroll.)
HR Operations & Compliance- Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee records and HR documentation
- Manage HRIS systems to ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency
- Conduct internal audits (e.g., I-9, Department of Labor compliance) to ensure adherence to regulations
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws in partnership with HR compliance teams
- Review time and attendance records, resolve discrepancies, and manage PTO tracking and reporting
Programs & Organizational Initiatives- Design and implement HR programs such as employee engagement, wellness, and leadership development initiatives
- Coordinate training sessions and professional development activities
- Support organizational initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and HRIS implementations
- Lead HR-related projects and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (required)
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and best practices
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration
- Proficiency in HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) or advanced degree preferred

This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. We offer flexibility in managing your schedule to maintain a healthy work-life balance while meeting business needs.
