The Performance Improvement Healthcare Consulting team helps healthcare organizations improve performance in a variety of ways, including addressing margin erosion through targeted improvement strategies. By integrating strategic, operational, financial, and compliance perspectives, the team identifies meaningful opportunities and partners with leadership to deliver actionable, sustainable results. With a focus on physician alignment and regulatory compliance, the team supports providers in fulfilling their mission while navigating an increasingly dynamic healthcare environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Serve as the engagement leader for physician services engagements, acting as the single accountable owner for scope execution, timeline, client communication, project economics, and completion through issuance and billing readiness.
  • Own and lead analytical workstreams end to end, including data acquisition, validation, benchmarking, and analysis related to physician operations, compensation, and alignment initiatives, ensuring work progresses consistently and does not stall.
  • Apply professional judgment to complex physician compensation, alignment, and Fair Market Value matters by integrating operational, financial, market, and regulatory considerations into clear, defensible conclusions.
  • Direct and review gap analyses, scenario modeling, and supporting analyses to inform physician compensation structures, productivity frameworks, and alignment strategies, making clear decisions on what to personally execute versus delegate.
  • Drive the final 30% of work to completion by proactively managing open items, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring deliverables are finalized, issued, and ready for billing.
  • Develop, review, and finalize client-ready deliverables, including compensation models, financial analyses, and executive-level presentation materials used in discussions with physician, administrative, and executive leadership.
  • Lead client meetings and ongoing communication with physician and organizational stakeholders, maintaining momentum and accountability throughout the engagement lifecycle.
  • Manage engagement economics by monitoring scope, leverage, and realization; addressing scope creep; and making informed decisions that balance client value, quality, and team capacity.
  • Push projects forward every week, even when projects are not urgent, by setting priorities, removing obstacles, and reinforcing a culture of ownership and follow-through.
  • Coach and develop junior team members by providing direction, review, and feedback, while retaining accountability for overall engagement outcomes.
  • Contribute to practice consistency and sustainability through knowledge sharing, refinement of tools and methodologies, and reinforcement of firm culture and associated standards of excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Healthcare, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant healthcare experience
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: hospital-physician service arrangements, provider employment models, compensation structures and methodologies, clinic operations and workflow optimization, Fair Market Value (FMV) assessments, and physician reimbursement methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Prior consulting experience
  • Experience in PowerBI or Tableau

Illinois Wage Transparency

Pursuant to Illinois' Equal Pay Act, the salary range displayed is for the Illinois market. The salary for this role will be based on the experience, education, and skill set of the individual for the position. Non-exempt/hourly positions will be eligible for time and half pay for employees that work over 40 hours in a workweek. Benefits are eligibility-based and could include group health plan benefits, 401(K), bonuses, profit-sharing contributions, flexible time off, and parental leave.
