Full Job Description
About the role

The Manager, Healthcare Analytics is a senior individual contributor within Swoop's Product Innovation Team. They own analyses end to end - from a loosely defined question raised by a client-facing team, through the cohort logic and QA, to the narrative that goes back - working across claims (RWD), social determinants of health (SDOH), pharmacy and treatment data, and user-generated content (UGC).

The Manager will wear many hats, from defining and executing against requests to setting direction for the function. They will transform repeatable work into reusable method: the codesets, definitions, and templates the rest of the team builds on. They will also mentor other team members and help set the bar for analytical rigor across the team.

What you'll do

  • Own healthcare analyses end to end. Scope an ambiguous request, define the patient or provider cohort, write the SQL, QA the result, and deliver an answer a nontechnical stakeholder can act on.
  • Serve as the data subject matter expert, partnering directly with sales, client strategy, and ad operations to shape the question before the analysis starts.
  • Build and govern the reusable building blocks of the analytics practice - condition and treatment codesets, cohort and metric definitions, notebook templates, and documentation - so every result is reproducible by someone other than its author.
  • Design patient and healthcare provider (HCP) audience segments from real-world data, and hand them off with the definitions, counts, and caveats needed to act on them.
  • Turn analysis into client-ready deliverables - market landscape, competitive and switching dynamics, payer access, patient journey, and audience recommendations - and present them to internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Measure and report the impact and performance of Swoop's campaigns and community engagement initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply AI and generative AI tooling to accelerate analysis and reporting, and share what works with the broader team.
  • Identify and propose new methodologies, data sources, and analyses - including opportunities the business has not thought to ask for.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, including a track record of owning projects independently from question to delivered answer
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare data - medical and pharmacy claims, diagnosis and procedure coding, NDC and treatment data - and of the healthcare industry
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, with hands-on experience on large data sets and cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Demonstrated ability to turn a loosely specified request into a defined, defensible analysis and to say plainly what the data can and cannot support
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques, and comfort building the story around the numbers
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for nontechnical and senior audiences
  • Experience mentoring or reviewing others' analytical work
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical, life sciences, or healthcare marketing work - brand strategy, competitive analysis, patient journey, or audience targeting
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, notebooks, and version control (Git) for reproducible analysis
  • Curiosity and passion for data exploration and healthcare innovation
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
