Manager, GMS - Games Services Apps

Role Purpose

As Manager, GMS Games Services Apps, you help deliver the technology that runs the Games. Working across the technology project team, you move a prioritized roadmap of LA28 business solutions - spanning Medical, Logistics, and Architecture systems - from plan to reliable operation. This cross-functional work rewards clear requirements, disciplined delivery, and strong stakeholder judgment that turns ambiguity into working systems, as you help build the games management applications teammates and venues depend on before 2028.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support delivery of the roadmap to implement key LA28 business solutions, including Medical, Logistics, and Architecture technology.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to align initiatives with technology, and document use cases, requirements, and success criteria into clear project plans.
  • Evaluate new technologies, develop RFPs, assess vendor responses, and identify needed system advancements.
  • Support development and maintenance of integrations between enterprise tools and business systems.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders - the IOC, LA28 Functional Areas, external Service Providers, and venues - to plan the Master Schedule and Games delivery milestones.
  • Support planning, testing, and integration of the games management applications, and recommend process improvements and automations.
  • Triage system requests and provide day-to-day support, coordinating with providers on SLAs and with cyber security and architecture teams on assurance and risk mitigation.

Required Competencies
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience administering technical software solutions.
  • Proven track record managing end-to-end technical implementations, with project-management skills to prioritize, control scope, manage risks, and deliver on time.
  • Experience with structured deployments, including user acceptance testing and release management.
  • Fluent in project-management frameworks (PMP or Prince2) and tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, Monday, or MS Project.
  • An intellectually curious, optimistic, patient, and kind approach to working with others.

Valued Experience
  • A self-starter who defines tasks, seeks feedback, and evolves the work.
  • Builds strong relationships across an organization, balancing assertiveness with diplomacy and managing change effectively.
  • A civic-minded attitude, with interest in or experience working for a non-profit and the mission of the Games.

What We Offer
  • A once-in-a-generation chance to build the technology behind the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Meaningful ownership of implementations that teammates, venues, and partners rely on.
  • Broad, cross-functional exposure across LA28 Functional Areas, service providers, and venues.
  • Transferable skills and career value from delivering complex systems at Games scale.

What This Role Means for the Games

The Games run on systems that have to work the first time. By turning requirements into dependable, well-integrated applications, you help create the operational backbone that Medical, Logistics, and venue teams count on for a Games delivered with confidence.
