Description Manager FP&A - Canada The Manager FP&A - Canada is a key member of the North Region Corporate Finance team. The Manager will be a business partner to the Senior Vice President, FP&A Canada and the Ontario Market President
In collaboration with the Senior Vice President, Canada FP&A, the Manager will lead and execute the Business planning cycle for the Ontario Market, including the Annual Budgets, Quarterly and Monthly Forecasts, Monthly Performance Reviews as well as other aspects of the FirstService Operating Model. The Manager will provide detailed insights, support optimisation, cost reduction, business decision making, pricing and benchmarking.
The position reports to the Senior Vice President, Canada FP&A, with accountability to the Market President and Leadership Team for Ontario.
Job Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Partner - In conjunction with the SVP, FP&A Canada, act as a business partner to the Ontario Market President:
- Deliver on the specific FP&A monthly, quarterly and annual outputs, including:
- Monthly Performance Reviews (internal and external)
- Quarterly Forecasts
- Annual Plans
- Regular and periodic reviews of:
- Portfolio profitability
- Ancillary revenue streams
- Cost control, assurance and outsourcing opportunities
- Maintain a cadence of periodic touchpoints with the SVP, FP&A Canada, and the Ontario Market President. Provide recommendations and execute on approved initiatives and improvements.
- Maintain and deliver on action plans agreed with the SVP, FP&A and Market President
- Continuous assessment and improvement of FP&A processes, disciplines and routines
- FP&A Lead on systems implementations and acquisitions in the respective Markets
- Represent finance on other major "cross functional" projects
Budgeting and Forecasting - In conjunction with the SVP, FP&A Canada, manage and coordinate all facets of the Business Planning cycle for Ontario including: Annual Budgets, Monthly and Quarterly forecasts
- Ensure proper structures, processes and disciplines around each planning deliverable, including the setting of timetables, communications of expectations and assumptions, ensuring proper checkpoints, reviews and sign-off and the preparation of required outputs (eg: standard presentations, variance analysis etc)
- Manage capital reporting, budgeting and forecasting, including the preparation of capital expenditure proposals for major projects
- Subject Matter Expert related to the Vena Budgeting and Reporting tool
- Own Manpower Planning and Forecasting in conjunction with the HR Lead for each Market.
Pricing. contract management and governance: - Prepare and review pricing models for new and renewal contracts. Ensure profitability guard rails are maintained. Recommend changes to divisional leaders and market President.
- Prepare and maintain pricing models for all existing and new contracts.
- Ensure streamlined preparation and execution of all Sales Contracts
- Deploy improvements and efficiencies related to contract management, including proposals and Project Plans, in conjunction with the Operational Leaders, for a centralized Canadian Contract Management Application
Operational partnerships: - Partner with Operational Leads on high priority Client Matters - Retention, Watchlist and Serious Case Reviews, NPS improvements, Google Review improvements, VIVE compliance, Assurance Reviews
REQUIREMENTS: - CPA, Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5+ years' experience in Financial Planning and Analysis
- Strong leadership skills required. Experience in multi-unit retail/ Property management preferred
- Strong understanding of business systems and processes
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. Great Plains/ VENA skills desirable
- High standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
- Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
- Demonstrated hands-on management ability

Compensation Compensation for this role is between $90,000 - $110,000 + benefits.
