Job TitleManager Environmental & Sustainability

Division: L'Oreal Dermatological Beauty

Location: Franklin, New Jersey (Manufacturing)

Reports To: Director, EHS

What You Will Do:

As the Manager Environmental & Sustainability, you will be supporting the plant in planning, coordinating, and implementing a range of environmental compliance and sustainability topics. You will be responsible for the site's progress towards, and achievement of L'Oreal For The Future 2030 goals including 100% material recovery (recycle or reuse of all waste), waste reduction, energy consumption reduction, Water Loop, wastewater COD reduction, and implementing a biodiversity plan for the site. You will also be responsible for managing programs wholly or in part, potentially including prevention of water, soil, and air pollution, hazardous waste management, and/or solid waste management with associated reporting and recordkeeping. You will actively participate in identifying new and improved processes that will result in time or waste savings.

  • Own environmental compliance programs such as hazardous waste, air, stormwater, wastewater, and/or chemical storage and management through the following:
    1. Inspections such as stormwater, spill prevention, and hazardous waste storage areas
    2. Recordkeeping such as sample and inspection data
    3. Permitting requirements such as air permit information and wastewater permit data
    4. Hazardous waste compliance program assistance including shipments
    5. Tier II environmental chemical storage reporting
    6. Department of Homeland Security chemical requirements
    7. DOT Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods training and program management
    8. Refrigerant-containing equipment management and leak tracking
    9. Performs other related work as assigned


What We Are Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science (Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, etc.) or engineering (e.g. Environmental Engineering)
  • Experience in environmental compliance/EPA regulations including RCRA, EPCRA, Air Permitting, SPCC, SWPP, and/or wastewater permitting
  • Experience in DOT Hazardous Materials, OSHA HazCom, Hazwoper, or certificates/training in other chemical-related regulations
  • Must have various DOT/EPA/RCRA/HAZWOPER certifications
  • CHMM or other industry recognized environmental certification is desired


  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in environmental management and sustainability
  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment


  • Experience with environmental sustainability topics such as waste, water, carbon emissions, circular economy, and/or biodiversity
  • Drive operational improvements through the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve energy and sustainability performance across extensive real estate portfolios
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to explain complex data and content in a clear and impactful way with target audiences in mind
  • Knowledge of budgeting & fiscal management
  • Strong PC Skills utilizing Excel, Power BI, Forms, PowerPoint, and related MS Office Software
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills
