We focus on translating ideas into real-world solutions-from early concept through full-scale implementation-while continuously optimizing how our stores operate. This role will play a critical leadership position within that mission.
As a Manager, Industrial Engineering, you will lead a team responsible for developing, scaling, and optimizing store systems, equipment, and operational processes. You will bridge strategy and execution-setting direction, aligning cross-functional partners, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact initiatives that improve store performance, partner experience, and customer outcomes.
This is a highly cross-functional, fast-paced role. You will partner closely with operations, store development, equipment engineering, product teams, and data science to bring solutions to life and scale them effectively across thousands of stores.
As a leader on the team, you will...- Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing coaching, clear expectations, and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment that drives strong results
- Translate business priorities into actionable plans, structuring programs, resources, and timelines while removing barriers and driving execution against key outcomes
- Deliver and scale store solutions by applying industrial engineering principles, data, and modeling (including CAD and simulation) to improve capacity, efficiency, and the partner experience
- Drive cross-functional alignment and execution, connecting work across engineering, operations, and development teams, and ensuring ideas move effectively from concept through implementation
- Define and translate complex business needs into clear requirements, enabling teams to solve problems, navigate trade-offs, and progress high-impact initiatives
- Apply a data-driven, analytical mindset to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and translate insights into scalable, real-world solutions
- Shape continuous improvement strategies, identifying patterns, constraints, and opportunities across the system to inform long-term innovation and productivity gains
We'd love to hear from people with:- 7+ years' experience in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field
- 7+ years of project/program management experience
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from pilot to large-scale implementation
- Prior experience in retail, or store operations environments
- Experience leading and developing teams

- Strong data-driven mindset, with experience using analytics, modeling, and research to inform decisions
- Familiarity with engineering design and simulation tools (e.g., CAD, process modeling)

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
