Job Title: Manager, Electronic, Fire Alarm, and Elevator Systems

Salary Range: $88,583 - $104,215

Summary

The Manager, Electronic, Fire Alarm, and Elevator Systems is responsible for overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, and compliance of critical building systems, including electronic security systems, fire alarm systems, and elevator operations. This role ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations. The manager leads cross-functional teams, coordinates with vendors and regulatory agencies, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, safety, and performance across facilities. This position works Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4 pm with a 30-minute lunch. Must be available 24/7 to support and direct emergency response or scheduled equipment shutdowns. Must be on site to support operations in case of emergencies or shutdowns.

Job Duties

  • Oversees lifecycle management of electronic, fire alarm, and elevator systems.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, NEC, OSHA, local/state regulations).
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs.
  • Manages vendor relationships and service-level agreements.
  • Leads inspections, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Supervises electronics technicians and locksmith.
  • Coordinates emergency response readiness.
  • Maintains system documentation and compliance records.
  • Develops and manages budgets and capital plans.
  • Supports construction and renovation projects.
  • Monitors system performance and drive improvements.
  • Collaborates with facilities, safety, IT, and security teams.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.


Department-specific Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and meet Baylor College of Medicine's driving eligibility requirements, including a clean driving record and a minimum of three years of U.S. driving history.


Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and inspections.
  • Leadership experience supervising teams and contractors.
  • Experience in large-scale facilities.
  • Knowledge of building systems integration.
