Full Job Description

The Manager, Corporate Accounting & Reporting plays a key leadership role within the corporate accounting function, supporting the Director in overseeing financial reporting, technical accounting, and the monthly close process.

This individual will be responsible for managing key areas of corporate accounting, reviewing team output, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively balance execution and review responsibilities while driving process improvements, supporting audit requirements, and partnering cross-functionally across Finance.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Corporate Accounting and Monthly Close:

  • Manage and execute key aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process to ensure accurate and timely results
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across corporate accounting areas (e.g., SG&A, fixed
  • assets, leases, accruals, intangibles)
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of account reconciliations and balance sheet integrity
  • Coordinate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other stakeholders to support close and reporting processes

Financial Reporting:

  • Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee preparation of audit support, including workpapers and schedules required by external auditors
  • Assist in maintaining and enhancing financial reporting processes and tools

Technical Accounting:

  • Support the identification, research, and documentation of technical accounting matters
  • Assist with preparation of accounting memos and position papers
  • Support accounting for mergers and acquisitions, including purchase accounting and related reporting

Internal Controls:

  • Maintain and enhance documentation of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures
  • Identify and address process and control gaps

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Supervise and review work of senior and staff accountants
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to team members
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Systems & Process Improvements:

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements within accounting and reporting
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, and reporting tool enhancements
  • Promote efficient use of technology and data integrity across processes

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CPA required

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring team members preferred
  • Experience with ERPs required; experience with AS400, Cognos / TM1, SQL and PowerBI considered a plus
  • Mergers and acquisitions accounting and financial reporting experience preferred
  • Experience with cloud-based financial reporting solutions (e.g., ActiveDisclosure, Workiva)
  • Experience with lease accounting software (e.g., CoStar, LeaseAccelerator, Virtual Lease)
