This role provides leadership for core compensation work, including market pricing, salary structure support, annual compensation planning, variable incentive compensation support, pay equity analysis, policy and process documentation, reporting, and compensation-related projects.
You will partner with Compensation teammates, HR, and business stakeholders to help ensure compensation programs are administered consistently, recommendations are well supported, and processes are carried out effectively. This role is a good fit for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while operating with a high degree of independence.
The Work Itself • Own assigned broad-based compensation programs, processes, and guidelines, which may include salary programs, annual compensation planning activities, and selected variable incentive compensation processes, helping ensure they are administered consistently and in line with Ally's compensation philosophy and governance standards.
• Lead compensation analysis and modeling to inform pay decisions, program recommendations, annual planning, and selected variable incentive compensation decisions or program assessments.
• Manage market pricing and benchmarking activities for assigned work.
• Oversee key components of the annual compensation cycle, which may include planning support, testing, exception review, reconciliation, reporting, and post-cycle assessment.
• Support and oversee selected variable incentive compensation activities, which may include plan administration, documentation, reporting, modeling, governance, and process improvement work.
• Develop and maintain compensation policies, process guidance, job aids, training materials, and related documentation to support clear standards and strong execution.
• Monitor compensation data, program outcomes, and process effectiveness, and recommend improvements that strengthen governance, accuracy, and scalability.
• Lead or contribute to control-focused work such as pay equity analysis, FLSA-related review, data quality checks, and process improvements that support disciplined compensation practices.
• Lead and participate in compensation and HR-related projects as assigned, which may include job architecture work, pay transparency readiness, Workday-related enhancements, workflow improvements, or other enterprise initiatives.
