OverviewThe Manager, Colored Gemstones & Pearls is responsible for overseeing gemstone and pearl inventory operations,
certification management, vendor coordination, trade show support, and cross-functional logistics for Product
Development, Design, and High Jewelry teams. This role serves as a key operational partner across sourcing,
inventory control, vendor management, and gemstone quality assurance while supporting the execution of both
Mainline and High Jewelry initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Certification & Documentation
- Manage the gemstone and pearl certification library (physical and digital), liaising with GIA and AGL on status, turnaround, and distribution to clients and retail teams.
- Upload and maintain certification records in PLM systems; verify certification validity during finished goods turnover.
Inventory & Operations
- Create and manage stone SKUs, purchase orders, Oracle receiving, and inventory records across Mainline, High Jewelry, and Men's teams.
- Lead year-end inventory counts, manage interdepartmental stone transfers, and resolve discrepancies across inventories of up to 5,000 SKUs.
- Maintain inventory logs, PLM records, and operational tracking documentation.
Vendor & Trade Show Coordination
- Coordinate vendor meetings, onboarding, memos, RTVs, invoicing, and follow-up for Men's and High Jewelry teams; manage 20 + vendors per trade show.
- Partner with Legal and Accounts Payable on contract approvals and invoice processing.
- Prepare trade show materials including shopping lists, booth maps, and purchasing summaries.
Sourcing & Quality Control
- Inspect gemstones and pearls to confirm specifications and company standards before release to Design and Product Development.
- Source stones from internal inventory for repairs and production; coordinate with domestic cutters on High Jewelry, Mainline, and DYS projects.
- Support daily stone pulls, melee requests, custom sourcing, and one-of-a-kind initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:- Minimum 4+ years of experience in gemstone procurement, luxury jewelry operations, or a related field.
- Proficiency with PLM systems and ERP platforms (Oracle); knowledge of GIA and AGL certification processes.
- Strong organizational, communication, and vendor management skills; high attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and workflow management tools.
Other Qualifications:- GIA Graduate Gemologist (GG), Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP), or active GIA coursework.
- Experience in luxury or High Jewelry environments; familiarity with trade show operations and gemstone buying cycles.
Estimated Basse Salary: $85,000-$95,000
