Full Job Description

Position Purpose:

The Manager, Pro Trade Credit – Trade Credit Services, leads the credit & collections management for the Pro Trade Credit program. Focus is on developing and managing processes for the trade credit services team and customer support functions related to existing customer credit and collections management.  This is including but not limited to, direct management of a credit operations team, development of credit underwriting and collection policies and processes, customer servicing functions, receivables management, development and adherence to compliance and reporting requirements, program operations and improvements, and loss mitigation and collections strategies. This role works cross functionally with internal and external partners (including Information Technology, Product Managers, Operations, Accounting, Compliance, third-party vendors, and others) to develop and implement a trade credit management functions and strategies that supports strategic initiatives.

This role requires strong team management, deep understanding of commercial credit underwriting and collections processes, call center and customer service functions, and the ability to effectively communicate and influence partners to support and execute solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 20% - Collaboration - Work with Pro Operations, Accounting, and Controls to ensure program adherence to service and compliance/control related objectives.
  • 25% - Drives Results - Establish and assess financial and operational/quality results of collections and receivables management against predetermined goals. Determine appropriate team structures along with credit and collections strategies to achieve operationally established goals and objectives.
  • 30% - Plans & Aligns - Manage the credit and collections processes, strategy, and support functions related to the commercial Pro Trade Credit program.
  • 25% - Strategic Mindset - Oversee the development and execution of underwriting and collections processes and performance. Utilize credit knowledge and people management skills to ensure proper program administration and support levels are met.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This Position typically reports tothe Sr. Manager or Director, Pro Trade Credit
  • This Position has 6 Direct Reports

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to draw accurate conclusions from financial documentation
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years9 experience in commercial trade credit management and/or supervisory capacity in credit servicing center and underwriting teams.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • An understanding and knowledge of the principles/disciplines of commercial underwriting and credit program administration.
  • People and team management skills
  • A strong grasp of credit and customer service/call center management skills. Able to manage/coordinate customer servicing levels. Understands how to structure and manage staffing, manage collections and effective receivables management relative to operational structure and servicing needs.
  • Sound understanding of lien based lending and effective receivables management strategies.
  • Ability to leverage data and analysis to craft a well-thought story and business case. Very strong communication skills to deliver business cases and gain support for process development and business strategies. Demonstrated decisiveness and sound decision-making skills.
  • Able to think strategically about business problems and opportunities and to focus efforts on strategies that most closely support key company initiatives.
