About the Role:

The Manager, Builder Direct is responsible for leading a team of Builder Account Managers within an assigned geographic territory to drive sales execution, customer satisfaction, and business performance. This role provides coaching, development, and performance management while ensuring consistent execution of Builder Direct policies, programs, and account strategies. The Manager serves as a key escalation point for Single-Family and Multi-Family customers, builds strong customer and cross-functional relationships, and partners with National Account Managers and internal teams to resolve business needs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong leadership, communication, business judgment, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Extensive travel throughout the assigned territory is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop assigned Builder Account Managers through performance management, KPI tracking, development planning, talent reviews, coaching, training, 1:1 meetings, and market visits.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Builder Direct policies, procedures, account strategies, and sales initiatives across the assigned territory.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Single-Family and Multi-Family business needs, including customer concerns, field site visits, customer meetings, QBRs, and division rollouts.
  • Monitor business performance through reporting and key metrics, holding the team accountable for results and providing visibility to business opportunities and concerns.
  • Partner with National Account Managers and cross-functional teams, including A/R, Final Mile, Warranty Service, Customer Direct, Risk Management, and Sales Operations, to support account execution and resolve business needs.
  • Manage and approve change orders in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Support the Director of Contract Direct Sales with business planning, team initiatives, special projects, and annual meetings while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Represent the organization at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and other business activities as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of relevant field sales, account management, or related experience.
  • Previous people management experience preferred, including experience coaching, developing, and managing performance.
  • Strong knowledge of sales concepts, practices, and business processes; experience within the appliance, builder, or related industry preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned geographic territory.
