Full Job Description
Title: Manager, Accounting & Accounts Payable
Salary: $102,397 - $120,467 - $138,538 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours, 8:00am-4:00pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Coast Salish Territories of Squamish, Musqueam and Tsleil-Waututh- Metro Vancouver- Park Royal office - Hybrid (2 days in office) (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA's flex work policy).
Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway in Spring 2027.

About the role
As Manager, Accounting and Accounts Payable, you will be responsible for all functions of the general accounting and accounts payable teams including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, tax interpretation and compliance, year-end audit preparation, budgets and forecasts, strategic analysis and accounts payable transactions.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have-

Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field

Occupational Certification
• CPA designation

Experience
• 6 - 8 years of progressive experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Recent, relevant and significant experience in a financial accounting role (usually acquired over a 6 - 8 year period)
• Recent and significant experience in a supervisory or management role (usually acquired over a 3 - 5 year period)
• Supervisory, financial statement and financial analysis experience in a large, complex, unionized environment is an asset
• In-depth experience in applying concepts and principles as outlined in the CICA Handbook for Not-for-Profit organizations and other aspects of GAAP

Knowledge and Competencies
• Knowledge of First Nations culture and history in Canada and British Columbia to better understand, and support the mandate, directives, vision, mission and values of the First Nations Health Authority.
• Extensive knowledge of business administration, and other corporate processes.
• Extensive knowledge of computerized financial systems and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, finance processes, audit and program evaluation principles and practices.
• Demonstrated financial planning, monitoring, analysis, and reporting expertise.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level. Internal employee compensation will be determined as per the FNHA Employee Total Compensation Policy.
