Position Summary:Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator, the
Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammograms at our Bronx- Based flagship site El Nuevo San Juan.
Minimum Qualifications:- ARRT Mammography Certification
- NYS DOH Radiology Technician License
- Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired.
- Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- 2+ years minimum of related experience with mammograms (both screening and diagnostic)
- Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired.
Responsibilities Include:
- Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
- Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered. Completes appropriate documentation.
- Acts as lead for the division in supporting training of other Mammo Techs.
- Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation, pays attention to detail.
- Performs quality control functions related to mammography.
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
- Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
- Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team.
- Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
- Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
Starting Compensation:Minimum $60.00 per hour; Maximum $64.00 per hour contingent on established years of experience practicing with ARRT(M) Licensure.
Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:Onsite, Bronx, NY; Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
