Employees Supervised: Hourly technical associates
Purpose: Supervise and coordinate activities of the Maintenance team members engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools. Ensure that work and safety rules, policy, and procedures are followed by team members and contractors.
Essential Functions:- Directs performance of facility maintenance team to budget. Ensure that process standards correspond to the plant's objectives, costs and supply in order to meet the needs of the customer.
- Maintains an effective preventative maintenance program to ensure maximum equipment reliability. Support continuous improvement activities within the plant (i.e. TPM, 5S).
- Provide technical resources for activities related to programming or installation of equipment. Directs troubleshooting where it is necessary. Assists in the training of maintenance personnel in technical areas.
- Coordinates design, installation and start up of new/revised equipment with Technical Center engineers and outside vendors.
- Maintains the documentation of the plant SOPs, Systems, spec manual, machine manuals and the PM records
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of numerous types of equipment. Assist Maintenance/Production team members as a resource for trouble shooting equipment.
- Provide consultation, analysis, evaluation and review of problems regarding equipment. Assists in the development of new products or processes and systems. Contributes to research and development projects to meet future demands when necessary.
- Assist with mechanical improvements through TPM, PM, and Capital Expenditure Projects. Assist with the commissioning of new plant and equipment and other systems to ensure that this introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and with minimum disruption.
- System/Project design, costing and implementation from concept to completion to include capital improvement programs. Coordinate all equipment/hardware installation to ensure that project timing, quality, and cost targets are attained. Supervise and/or direct contractors, suppliers, or other technical people as required. Act at times as overall project manager on installation, movement, or decommission projects
- Works in compliance with all safety rules and regulations to provide and support a safe working environment and reliable, ergonomic systems and machines. Will develop safeguards and improve team member safety through process improvements.
- Trains team members in Equipment operation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), problem solving, ME Techniques (5S & TPM) and ensure regular audits for the maintenance of such procedures.

Scope/Dimensions:- Technical support of single site manufacturing and delivery facility with over 10 advanced manufacturing production cells and wide variety of domestic and international customers (Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automotive OE).
- Purchase recommendation related to technical projects, capital expenditures, and safety expenses.
- Frequent interaction with customer and vendor representatives, senior management, and peers at other company locations.
- Frequent interaction with operators and technical staff - personally responsible for training others, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and ensuring process standards are complied with.

Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in related field or combination of education and experience or experience.
- Minimum 4 years of related hands-on Maintenance experience in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance repair of machinery and equipment.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to read a variety of instructions including written, oral diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane solid geometry
- Proficiency with MS Office software and other maintenance software
- Demonstrated ability in solving technical problems related to manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, hands on and self-motivated.
- Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Qualifications Desired: - Experience with Quality Systems and documentation
- Experience in a manufacturing tier 1 automotive company
- Injection molding knowledge.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt
- Code understanding to include NEC, NFPA70 and OSHA
Other Requirements: - Relies on experience and understanding of advanced manufacturing processes and written customer requirements to determine proper actions.
- Key relationships with internal leadership team, supplier teams, and customer team to ensure successful and mutual concern resolution.
- Demands and priorities need adjusted regularly to provide a high level of service under tight timelines to several customers-internally or externally.

9 hour work day M-F is standard but this role requires availability a wide variety of hours/days including weekends and overnights.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Physical Environment:While performing the duties of this position, the associate frequently works around moving machines/parts in an industrial environment. The associate occasionally works around industrial chemicals and other industrial hazards requiring PPE. The associate must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record for use of company vehicles. Regular and predictable attendance at the manufacturing plant is required. Very infrequent domestic and international travel required, primarily to customer and vendor locations.
