SummaryReporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, the Blending Maintenance & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance activities for blending equipment, facility systems, and plant infrastructure to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe, efficient manufacturing operations at the Wilmington, Ohio facility. This position provides leadership and direction to maintenance technicians while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do:- Demonstrate and uphold the James Hardie Values and Leadership Principles while promoting a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, environmental regulations, and OSHA requirements.
- Lead, coach, develop, and supervise the Blending & Facilities Maintenance team, establishing clear performance expectations and providing ongoing feedback to support employee growth.
- Plan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance activities for blending systems, facility equipment, and plant infrastructure to ensure reliable operation and minimal production downtime.
- Inspect blending equipment, building systems, and facilities to identify maintenance needs, prioritize repairs, and recommend improvements.
- Drive a proactive safety culture by identifying hazards, implementing corrective actions, conducting safety discussions, and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
- Communicate daily maintenance priorities, equipment issues, and operational updates with the Sr. Maintenance Manager and cross-functional leadership teams.
- Accurately review, edit, and approve employee timecards and attendance records in UKG, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Lead and actively participate in the James Hardie Daily Management System (DMS), including daily tier meetings, KPI reviews, action tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and Production teams to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are effectively executed and continuously improved to maximize equipment reliability.
- Coordinate contractor work and capital improvement projects while ensuring compliance with company safety standards and project expectations.
- Support the planning and execution of capital projects involving blending equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Train, mentor, and develop maintenance technicians through hands-on coaching, technical instruction, and cross-training opportunities.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding maintenance team members who align with the organization's culture and performance expectations.
- Maintain effective working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to support maintenance and facility operations.
- Stay current on emerging maintenance technologies, equipment improvements, and industry best practices to enhance plant performance.
- Support environmental compliance initiatives, reporting requirements, and internal audit activities.
- Provide maintenance leadership during off-shift, weekend, holiday, or emergency situations as needed to support 24/7 manufacturing operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring:Education- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting blending, extrusion, or continuous process manufacturing.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with pneumatic conveying systems, material handling equipment, and industrial processing equipment.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems.
- Experience developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting equipment failures and implementing long-term reliability improvements.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Computer Skills- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), preferably Fluke eMaint or similar platforms.
- Experience with UKG timekeeping or comparable workforce management systems preferred.
What You'll Receive:As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
