Full Job Description
This position has the responsibility for leading maintenance and reliability at the site through monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing various equipment as well as driving improvements on plant throughput, profitability, stability, reliability, and safety for multiple facilities. This includes leading reliability and plant performance improvements, expense and capital projects, supporting maintenance efforts, drive improvements in maintenance work processes, procedures, performance, and cost. #LI-ZO1

A Day in the Life

  • Support and participate in the site's safety programs
  • Troubleshoot issues with mechanical equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, pumps, gearboxes, blowers, boilers)
  • Conduct investigations to determine root cause of equipment failures, complete and close findings as required
  • Lead or participate in site reliability improvement teams which identify, prioritize, and resolve leveraging maintenance / reliability / production issues
  • Assist in the development of the yearly maintenance budget and program spending plans
  • Provide technical/engineering specifications for design of new and inspection/repair of existing pieces of mechanical equipment
  • Provide support to establish adequate spare parts and preventative maintenance tasks on Equipment
  • Provide planning support for major machinery overhauls, equipment replacement, specifying scope of required work and technical details to ensure successful execution
  • Develop and maintain site systems and procedures to implement corporate engineering and operational excellence standards
  • Provides technical consultation, formal and informal training, and development of documentation, standards, and procedures in relation to their role
  • Develop opportunities and assess benefits to be prioritized into a long range capital plan
  • Support all LyondellBasell standards, procedures, policies and practices
  • Work with maintenance, operations or other departments to carry out responsibilities
  • Mentor engineers, specialists, and technicians and provide training in the area of mechanical equipment operation and repair

You Bring This Value

  • Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering or Technology degree
  • Minimum of seven years of industry experience in the manufacturing setting
  • Must have working knowledge of all applicable engineering and inspection codes/standards and their application (ASME, ANSI)
  • Candidates must have excellent leadership, ethics, teamwork, and communication skills with a results oriented commitment.
  • The ability to manage multiple and changing priorities is essential
  • This position requires negotiating skills and the ability to resolve conflict across departmental lines to achieve objectives
  • Must have strong computer skills including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • A thorough knowledge of operating processes, equipment, and materials of construction
  • Strong commitment to safety, a high level of personal integrity, and dedication to conducting business in an ethical way
  • Advanced level of interpersonal capability to provide timely and effective problem solving
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing with internal and external clients
