Summary:The maintenance reliability engineer will create, develop and maintain reliability/sustainability engineering projects in a manufacturing facility. This position contributes to business goals through capital projects to improve safety, decrease costs, and improve productivity through reliable equipment and maintenance. This is a safety sensitive position.
Responsibilities:- Create plans and strategies for increasing the reliability of the plant.
- Provide engineering support to the maintenance and production teams.
- Administer reliability projects and assist maintenance in conducting failure analysis and prevention.
- Investigate equipment maintenance problems and initiate corrective measures.
- Drive improvements through plant turnarounds, reliability planning, and process training.
- Collaborate to identify and implement reliability improvements specific to equipment.
- Contribute scope development for maintenance and capital improvements.
- Provide reliability expertise during design and implementation of new assets.
- Provide training for operations to improve skills and knowledge.
- Develop metrics and reliability reports for equipment performance.
- Identify cost reductions through extended parts' life and reduced labor cost.
- Ensuring a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Competencies:- Planning and organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
- Skill is using CADD software.
- Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance concepts.
- Ability to plan and direct safe work activities and establish safe working guidelines.
Education & Experience:- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
- One year's experience in a manufacturing, refinery, or pipeline environment is preferred.
- One year's project management experience is preferred.
Physical & Work Requirements- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to work in various environments including heat, cold, wind and confined spaces.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on uneven terrain.
