This position has been designated as On-Site (5 days) in McGregor, TX and is considered Safety Sensitive

What you will do:
  • Exemplify the Trane core values in daily work and interactions.
  • Support operations in resolving internal and field quality issues to maintain production and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead customer issue research and quality investigations, including analysis of improvement opportunities and business impact.
  • Develop and present business cases for quality improvements and track implementation timelines.
  • Support new product development by participating in design reviews, failure mode analysis, and reliability evaluations.
  • Trouble-shoot design failures and root cause analysis on HVAC units/components.
  • Help ensure corrective actions and new product development efforts improve component reliability and product performance using problem-solving tools such as 9 Step, 8D, and A3 to drive sustainable improvements.
  • Develop and execute inspection plans, test procedures, and validation strategies for electrical and mechanical parts and assemblies.


  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Sales, Technical Service, and Field Service Technicians to investigate complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage a prioritized Field Project Pipeline to maximize customer and business value.
  • Conduct site visits and investigations to gather data, identify root causes, and resolve customer concerns.
  • Track quality improvement actions and ensure timely follow-through by responsible teams.
  • Maintain FQA warranty and concession claims data, including tracking, allocation and uploading information to Teams or SharePoint.
  • Identify field quality escapes and coordinate rework or retrofit activities at customer job sites.
  • Collaborate with Field Quality Engineers across plants and maintain regular communication with Technical Service on emerging quality issues.
  • Communicate key messages related to quality improvement efforts and help foster a strong culture of quality within the organization.

What you will bring:
  • Bachelors' degree in Engineering or closely related field, or 5+ years experience in Commercial HVAC manufacturing/troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality or quality engineering in a design, engineering or manufacturing environment, including blueprint reading and using various measuring equipment.
  • Ability to travel up to 15-25% with some peaks at higher levels.
  • Must be computer -savvy and proficient experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in investigation of root causes and driving implementation of corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints and internal issues.
  • Team oriented proactive change agent with a hands-on, collaborative approach in implementing and maintaining operating disciplines while leveraging problem solving techniques, process improvement tools, statistical and sampling techniques, SPC, process capability, traceability, control points.
  • Project management and planning tools, measuring and monitoring of project activities and project documentation. Proficiency in information technology systems utilized in Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience using common problem-solving tools, preferably 9 Step, 8D, A3.
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time to complete multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within business and with customers.
