Full Job Description
Position Overview:The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will oversee planning and/or scheduling of maintenance work in production departments including Raw Materials Processing Center (RMPC), Furnace, and Refining for the Tampa facility. They ensure all maintenance activities are thoroughly scoped and prepared before work begins by developing detailed job plans, securing parts/special tools, identifying safety requirements, and maintaining CMMS accuracy. Additionally, they ensure efficient execution of planned maintenance by developing accurate schedules, analyzing manpower availability, and aligning maintenance activities with production priorities.

Critical Success Criteria:
  • Develop and implement maintenance plan with clear work instructions for regular, preventive, and predictive maintenance to help ensure all equipment, machinery, and processes are in working order and performing as needed
  • Plan work packages to minimize delays and maximize wrench time and/or create weekly schedules that reflect accurate labor availability and skill allocation which are aligned with outage windows, align with production priorities, and are sequenced for maximum productivity
  • Initiate continuous improvements and minimize production impact through proactive adjustments, implementing best practices and optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Ensure data in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) is up-to-date and accurate including schedules, spare parts, parts lists, job plans, etc.


Responsibilities:

Planning:
  • Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and routine maintenance
  • Define scope of work, required labor, tools, parts, and safety requirements including hot work permits, confined space, lockout/tagout, and PPE for each job with clear, step-by-step work instructions for safe and efficient execution
  • Organize and maintain spare parts lists, manuals, and technical drawings ensuring materials and resources are available before work begins
  • Work with outside contractors to obtain bids and secure purchase orders, as well as providing contractors with detailed job scopes, safety requirements, and site expectations prior to arrival
  • Manage backlog of work orders and prioritize based on equipment criticality, risk, and stakeholder involvement
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends and improve equipment reliability
  • Build out standard job plans for re-occurring maintenance activities

Scheduling:
  • Create daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance schedules that clearly define resource assignments and timing (adjust and communicate as needed)
  • Analyze manpower availability and skill sets to ensure realistic and balanced schedules while sequencing work for maximum efficiency and minimal downtime
  • Schedule outside contractors in the weekly plan and communicate internally after ensuring the contractors have approved purchase orders, job scopes, and safety requirements
  • Maintain, monitor, update and ensure accuracy of scheduling data in CMMS
  • Lead weekly meeting with maintenance and operations to review priorities and finalize schedules
  • Provide clear timely communications of schedule changes and updates
  • Track schedule adherence, analyze variances, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to reduce delays, increase reliability, and maximize labor productivity
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field from accredited College or University plus 2 years of maintenance planning/scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment OR High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of maintenance planning/scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent mechanical skills, broad knowledge of maintenance concepts and techniques
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office, CMMS (Mainsaver preferred) and planning/scheduling tools such as MS Project
  • Aptitude to read, write, understand, and follow technical instructions and drawings; ability to read and understand blueprints. Proficient English (reading and writing) and math skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable, and to change priorities and direction as needed, allowing for optimum effectiveness
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety rules and regulations including familiarity with OSHA standards including lockout/tagout, confined space and hot work

Physical Requirements:
  • Willingness and ability to wear a full-face respirator mask directly against skin (e.g. clean shaven if applicable), work in a hot/high temperature production facility, and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas with or without reasonable accommodation. Planning work requires spending a majority of work time in the plant production facility
  • Willingness and ability to comply with safety protocols and company-provided decontamination measures which include utilizing private shower facilities upon leaving the plant environment with or without reasonable accommodation

Compensation Information:Salary Range: $76,632 - $122,408. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan which is determined by the achievement of strategic objectives.
