Role OverviewThe Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance activities throughout the production and assembly operation. The incumbent directs maintenance supervisors and maintenance technicians and ensures that strategic maintenance goals are met through skilled maintenance technicians who perform preventive and routine electrical and mechanical maintenance and equipment breakdown repairs. The incumbent also writes various maintenance reports, assesses team member job performance, and ensures Team Member safety. This role will work for MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC. (MNAe)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)
Performance Management:- Develops and manages strategic objectives for the Maintenance Department
- Writes annual (MBO) goals and objectives, sets clear expectations, evaluates Team Member job performance, and develops solutions to ensure business success
- Ensures that all Team members receive initial and ongoing job-specific training
- Monitors Team Member job performance and provides technical training and coaching as needed
- Collaborate with Team Relations and Human Resources to ensure consistent administration of handbook policies and procedures
Maintenance Operations:- Manages preventive maintenance objectives and annual KPIs
- Manages the departmental budget and equipment investments
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules for shutdowns and routine repairs
- Develop continuous improvement plans and report results
- Evaluates and manage daily equipment downtime, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), and 3R5S activities, monitor all results reporting
- Manages breakdown maintenance and monitors troubleshooting with equipment failures
- Communicates with each department, vendor, and contractor regarding maintenance plans and issues, monitors daily shift changes, communications
- Supports and monitors SAP PM module usage and spare parts accuracy
- Collaborates with engineering to support new equipment installation and oversees training
- Monitors overtime hours
Reports:- Reviews daily check sheet reports and writes weekly and monthly reports
- Reviews the maintenance trouble reports, monitors countermeasures
- Reviews all maintenance planning results on a weekly and monthly basis
- Manages the reporting results of downtime, work plans, unfinished jobs, equipment failures, and other open issues following shift change meetings
- Monitors weekly and monthly Team Member attendance through the system
Safety, Environmental, and Training:- Ensures that maintenance Team Members receive ongoing technical and safety training
- Assists with safety audits and facilitates compliance with safety standards and records
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes, Manages a maintenance supervisor and maintenance technicians
AUTHORITY & SCOPE This role operates within defined corporate policies and procedures and exercises judgment appropriate to its level of responsibility. The position may influence decisions related to functional operations, processes, or recommendations and escalate matters as required
Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Technical Field plus five (5) or more years of maintenance supervisor/management experience
- Or, an Associate's Degree/Technical Certification in Industrial Maintenance plus seven (7) years of maintenance supervisor/management experience
- Or, a High School Diploma or GED plus ten (10) or more years of maintenance supervisor/management experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:- Proven knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Proven knowledge of robotics, automation, and vision inspection machines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Working Conditions: Office setting, repetitive standing, walking within and between buildings
This position may be assigned to either the Battery System Assembly (BSA) or Battery Module Assembly (BMA) section based on business needs and production requirements
