Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Install equipment including tanks, pumps, and various piping systems.
  • Calibrate process control equipment such as pH and flow meters.
  • Utilize electrical/electronic test equipment to diagnose and correct control system issues.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Conduct cleaning tasks within confined spaces and maintain equipment as needed.
  • Maintain operational status of forklifts and perform safety checks routinely.

Full Job Description
Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is currently hiring a Maintenance Manager in support of our government customer in Washington, DC.

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for maintaining the WSWPP, WSRP, and PWPP process control equipment. Items to include, but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to perform repairs, maintenance, installation, and calibration of equipment that is electrical and mechanical.
  • Must be able to install equipment such as, but not limited to, tanks, pumps, various types of piping, mixers, motors, gear drives, and filter presses.
  • Must be able to install/calibrate various process control equipment such as pH Controls, ORP Controls, Conductivity Meters, Flow Meters, and Level Meters.
  • Must be able to use various types of electrical/electronic test equipment to install, diagnose, and correct equipment and control system issues.
  • Must be able to use common and industrial hand/power tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Perform Confined Space Entry on process tanks, cleaning of sludge from interior/exterior of tanks (hosing, shoveling, pumping) as instructed by Plant Management.
  • Complete all Maintenance of Equipment as needed or as assigned by Plant Management. Complete work details in a timely fashion when assigned or as the need arises.
  • Pickup & deliver various supplies to & from BEP Shipping and Receiving and Loading Dock. Record supplies as they are brought into the plant.
  • Ability to Operate & Maintain the Operational Status of the Forklift & Pallet Jack. Maintain Safety Checklist on a Daily Basis. Report any mechanical defects that may affect the safe operation of the equipment.
  • Perform Monthly Inspections on Eyewash Stations, Emergency Lights, and Fire Extinguishers.

Job Requirements & Training
  • Four (4) years of experience as a Maintenance Manager overseeing the general maintenance of an Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment or Chemical Process Plant.
  • Must have experience in utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
  • Candidate must have demonstrated capabilities in coordinating and scheduling work, troubleshooting issues, supervising and managing personnel, providing timely and prudent direction and guidance in the maintenance of an Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment or Chemical Process Plant.
  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be fluent in the English language, both verbally and in writing, and be able to read and understand English.
  • Pass Background Investigation.
  • Be able to work weekends/holidays (as needed).
  • Will be required to lift & carry 50lb. bags of chemicals up ladders & stairs to mixing tanks.
  • Will be required to climb ladders & stairs to perform various tasks.
  • Will be required to pass Respiratory Fit Testing as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.134. (fit testing performed annually as required by contract).
  • Will be required to complete various training on an annual basis, training to include, but not limited to: Confined Space Entry, HAZWOPER, DOT Hazmat Transportation, Lockout / Tagout, CPR / First Aid, and Forklift Certification.
