The Job You Will Perform: - Supports and leads safety efforts at Bogalusa Mill that include an injury-free environment through role modeling safe behavior, active involvement in safety activities and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
- Completes the First Line Leader (FLL) Onboarding/Proficiency Curriculum.
- Coordinates and leads efforts to support high performance work teams.
- Leadership role in ensuring team member relations, efforts, and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results.
- Leads provides guidance, and/or supports teams as needed to achieve team goals, daily responsibilities, and overall mill goals.
- Manages daily shift operations in their assigned area while focusing on continuous improvement.
- Provides constructive and positive feedback, coaching, support, and performance management to ensure all team members have a positive, productive, and safe work environment.
- Communicates as needed with team members and mill leadership for resolution of safety, quality, cost, production, and personnel issues.
- Communicates and lead the application of facility policies and standards.
- Hold meaningful one-to-one discussions with members of crew; set clear expectations for both team and individuals and motivate team members to strive for success.
- Coach employees to be safety leaders and/while leading by example.
- Provide leadership to troubleshoot operation issues.
- Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements.
- Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all processes and their improvements.
- Assists other team members in the mill as necessary to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
- Maintains and develops team relationships with a positive attitude that instills confidence in personal leadership ability.
- Manage Lockout/ Hot Work and Vessel entry programs.
- Other applicable job tasks may be asked of this position.
The Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge You Will Bring: - High School Diploma or GED required.
- College degree preferred.
- 2+ years of operations, maintenance, and/or engineering experience in a paper manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills required.
- Demonstrates a successful leadership ability in a manufacturing environment, including safety leadership.
- Must have a high level of integrity, motivation, and leadership to develop and lead others.
- Excellent skills in organizing, planning, priority setting, and time management, with proven ability to adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
- Ability to effectively facilitate problem solving or conflict resolution processes.
