Salary Range: $92,000.00 to $117,000.00

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range

The Role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company9s performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to Foreman new hires. Must Have

Bachelor9s Degree OR
Apprentice Certification OR
High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR
Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of advanced machining operations, including CNC and conventional machining processes, tooling selection, precision measurement, and quality control requirements. Proven ability to plan and coordinate machining work, provide technical guidance to machinists and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all requirements.
