Department: Logistics Department

Overview:

Where there is growth, there is opportunity. The Pembina Logistics Team, part of the Commercial & Customer Service Group, is actively hiring a Natural Gas Pipeline Logistics Supervisor to lead our Natural Gas Scheduling Team. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will oversee daily scheduling activities, lead a team of 4-5 schedulers, and ensure the accurate execution of customer transactions across the Alliance Pipeline system, including nominations, confirmations, allocations, and imbalance trading.

As part of Pembina's Transmission Pipelines business, you will support a strategically positioned network of natural gas, ethane, and condensate transportation assets that connect Western Canada's most prolific producing regions to premium North American markets through long-term, fee-for-service agreements.

The Commercial & Customer Service Group plays a critical role in maximizing the value of Pembina's integrated assets by aligning customer needs with commercial priorities and operational capabilities. Through collaboration, innovation, and service excellence, the team enables reliable market access, strengthens customer partnerships, and supports long-term business success.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Leadership & Team Management
  • Champion Pembina's Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4-5 gas schedulers, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and growth opportunities while building a collaborative, high-performing work environment;
  • Drive employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development by mentoring team members and supporting continuous learning and technical capability growth;
  • Manage workforce planning, shift coverage, and resource allocation to ensure seamless scheduling support while adapting to changing business and operational priorities;
  • Establish clear performance expectations, promote accountability, and recognize achievements to strengthen individual and team effectiveness; and
  • Lead onboarding and training initiatives, ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and support required for long-term success.


Operational Leadership & Execution
  • Provide strategic oversight of daily gas scheduling activities on the Alliance Pipeline system, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational reliability;
  • Monitor pipeline capacity utilization, nominations, inventory balances, and Pre-Determined Allocations (PDA), proactively identifying risks and opportunities for optimization;
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex scheduling issues, balancing disputes, capacity constraints, and operational disruptions while making sound, timely decisions;
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, standardizing processes, enhancing workflows, and leveraging technology to improve team effectiveness; and
  • Lead the development and maintenance of scheduling procedures, operational standards, and training materials to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.


Stakeholder & Commercial Partnership
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, connected facility operators, and internal stakeholders through strong communication, collaboration, and customer-focused service;
  • Partner with Commercial, Operations, and Information Systems teams to solve complex business challenges, improve system functionality, and support evolving business requirements;
  • Influence cross-functional decision-making by providing analysis and insights on scheduling capacity, confirmed volumes, inventory balances, and operational performance; and
  • Foster a customer-centric culture by ensuring the team delivers responsive, professional, and solution-oriented support to internal and external stakeholders;


Regulatory & Compliance Leadership
  • Provide leadership oversight to ensure compliance with FERC, CER, and NAESB Wholesale Gas Quadrant standards, business practices, and regulatory requirements;
  • Promote a culture of integrity and operational discipline by ensuring adherence to pipeline tariffs, contractual obligations, governance standards, and regulatory reporting requirements; and
  • Anticipate and respond to regulatory or business changes, guiding the team through evolving requirements while minimizing operational risk.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • 8+ years of experience in natural gas scheduling, pipeline operations, midstream logistics, or a related field, including progressive leadership responsibilities;
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team;
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, allocate resources, and manage competing operational demands in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment;
  • Strong understanding of natural gas transportation operations, commercial agreements, pipeline tariffs, nominations, and capacity management;
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance strategic priorities while supporting day-to-day operations;
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess risks, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement;
  • Effective communicator and relationship builder, capable of influencing and collaborating with internal teams, customers, pipelines, and external stakeholders;
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel; experience with Power BI and Microsoft Power Automate is an asset; and
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support a modified shift schedule and provide leadership coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call situations.
