Join us as a Logistics Manager where you will drive operational excellence by leading shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation strategies that ensure seamless material flow and strong supply chain performance, while serving as a servant leader grounded in the principles of the 7 Habits to develop high-performing teams.

Location: Buursma Plant at 4950 37th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI. 49512

Target Pay: The target starting base salary for this position is $70,470.00 - $113,020.00 / year (plus quarterly bonus incentive). Please note that the salary information is a general guideline nly. Cascade Engineering considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead day-to-day shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistics operations across applicable sites
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve standard work, procedures, and process controls for all logistics functions
  • Develop training programs and ensure competency of shipping and receiving teams
  • Create, implement, and maintain work instructions and operational documentation
  • Serve as system administrator for customer portals and manage customer-related logistics websites
  • Ensure compliance with MMOG/LE requirements and support internal and external audits
  • Support and participate in freight carrier selection, quoting, and contract negotiations to optimize cost and service
  • Act as liaison between customer service, carriers, and internal shipping operations to resolve issues and improve communication
  • Oversee freight tracking, claims, and billing approval processes
  • Partner with IT and cross-functional teams to support ERP (QAD) enhancements related to shipping, receiving, and inventory movement
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and drive corrective actions as needed
  • Build team capability through coaching, performance management, and accountability practices
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Materials, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure alignment and supply chain excellence
  • Manage and support multi-facility transportation networks, optimizing routes, capacity and service levels across distribution points.
  • Support and optimize TMS and WMS platforms, ensuring accurate data flow, system integrity, and efficient execution of transportation and warehouse operations.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain operations
  • Demonstrated experience leading, training, and developing teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of supply chain systems and ERP platforms (QAD preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accountability
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and sites


Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, or related field
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in logistics or supply chain within a multi-site manufacturing environment
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Experience managing freight strategy, cost optimization, and carrier relationships
