Reports To
  • Operational: Construction Manager
  • Functional: Extra EU Logistics Coordinator


Role Purpose

The Site Logistics Lead is responsible for on-site logistics execution, including deliveries, unloading operations, warehouse coordination, and material flow (in strict cooperation with the PSC team to ensure on time deliveries according to the site needs) to installation teams.

This role ensures that materials are available, handled, and tracked correctly at site level, avoiding delays in construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities:

International Logistics Strategy & Execution
  • Own the full logistics chain from factory (Italy) to U.S. project sites
  • Plan and optimize multimodal transport (sea, road, intermodal)
  • Ensure delivery timelines are fully aligned with project schedules


Customs & Trade Compliance Manage and coordinate external customs brokers
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations and trade requirements
  • Validate duties, tariffs, and customs classification (HS codes)
  • Prepare and oversee all import/export documentation, in coordination with accounts receivable
  • Manage the relationship with the customs consultant and be responsible for the strategic logistics import HUBs/ports


Vendor Management & Cost Control Select and manage freight forwarders and logistics partners
  • Negotiate transport rates and service agreements
  • Monitor logistics cost vs. budget and identify savings opportunities


U.S. Inland Logistics Coordination
  • Define and manage inland transportation strategy (port 1 warehouse 1 site)
  • Monitor transport market conditions (freight exchange platforms)
  • Ensure availability of carriers and capacity


Delivery & Unloading Management
  • Coordinate daily deliveries with transport providers
  • Organize unloading operations (cranes, forklifts, manpower)
  • Verify delivery conditions and manage damage reporting


Site Logistics Coordination
  • Ensure alignment between delivery schedules and site readiness
  • Coordinate with Construction Manager, PM's and Installation Teams


Warehouse & Material Handling
  • Support site warehouse operations
  • Ensure correct storage, handling, and material traceability
  • Track material availability for installation


Documentation & Compliance
  • Manage delivery documents (packing lists, delivery notes)
  • Ensure proper documentation for site acceptance
  • Support traceability and reporting


Reporting & Communication
    • Provide daily/weekly updates to Extra EU Logistics Coordinator + Procurement Manager
    • Flag delays, missing materials, or issues impacting execution
