Job Title: Logistics Engineer

Job Location:
Denton, Texas United States

Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Logistics Engineer who will drive logistics optimization in the factory and internal and external warehouses to ensure safety, quality and efficiency.

You will be based in our Denton, TX location and report to the Planning & Logistics Manager.

Tetra Pak is not considering applicants (Internal or External) who require International relocation to the United States.

What you will do

As Logistics Engineer, you will:

  • Lead inventory management and ensure process compliance (i.e. matching the system with the physical quantity).
  • Resolve issues that might arise with deliveries (in/out) at various stages of the process, such as at the warehouse, port, customs, and with the transportation company.
  • Secure and promote safety culture in the logistics department.
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities and drive logistics activities at the factory level to ensure the lowest possible total logistics costs and improved service level for inbound, outbound, warehouse, and customs/duties processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization within logistics processes.
  • Lead projects related to warehouse layout, material flow, transportation optimization, and inventory management.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.


We believe you have

  • A Bachelors' degree, ideally in Industrial Engineering, but could also be in other engineering fields or in Data Analytics
  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain roles
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, including Macros creation and database (proficient in excel formulas and pivot tables)
  • Power BI reports development and automation knowledge preferred
  • Experience with SAP ECC / SAP HANA strongly preferred
  • AutoCAD knowledge is considered a plus
  • Prior experience with process optimization: ideally knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ideally knowledge of TMS (Transportation Management Systems)
  • Good time management
  • A proactive workstyle with good decision making skills
