Job Summary

Senior Design Developer (multiple openings)

Position is located at Tetra Pak headquarters in Denton, TX.

5% domestic and international travel required.

Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.

Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.

What you will do

As a Senior Design Developer, you will:

Review and develop the design of packages for our customers in the U.S. Act as a Business Expert for the U.S. and Canada design area with market region. Oversee management of and assist with the translation of customer artwork and intent into reprographic ("repro") orders following the submission guidelines and company specifications, satisfying customer and productivity demands. Drive end-to-end design improvements. Support design developers with graphical knowledge and new releases. Lead internal and external design seminars and training and convert artwork files to proofs. Responsible for pre-flight and complete full design evaluation of customer artwork files. Ensure that company printing specifications and processes are followed and respected. Understand customer intent and translate this to repro instruction, maximizing print quality depending on print method, while securing production efficiency. Secure design consistency for brand/family designs. Check that repro has completed the job according to all requirements and verify that customer intent is fulfilled. Drive improvements of customer artwork quality, suitability, and process. Visit customers and agencies to discuss design and print specifications, sharing best practice examples to improve overall quality. Lead the common agenda within design handling. Support the design handling process. Lead World Class Manufacturing deployments and help the launch of teams within design handling. Share releases in Easy Design or any new printing technology or changes in specifications with the Customer Service and Design Teams.

We believe you have

Bachelor's degree in Design, Printing, Communications, or a related field, and 7 years of experience in printing or related.

Must also have work experience in:
1. Using graphic design software Illustrator, Photoshop, and ArtPro to convert customer artwork into reprographic files that meet technical and brand requirements and ensuring consistency across brand families verifying final outputs to meet customer expectations.
2. Applying typography and color theory design principles including font selection, layout composition, and color psychology to enhance brand identity.
3. Packaging design and production on various substrates, including paperboard and foils, applying printing techniques including flexography, offset, and digital printing.
4. Using project collaboration tool WebCenter to coordinate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product development, and vendors.
5. Collaborating with customers, agencies, and internal teams to translate customer intent into technical instructions and guide them through design improvements.
6. Color proofing and managing end-to-end design workflows, from artwork intake to final proofing, including following and enforcing submission guidelines and specifications
