Full Job Description
The Loan Closing and Servicing Sr. Group Manager manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary.

Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations and budget approval. May be involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities. Champions change initiatives, mobility, diversity, training, cost, compliance, and risk & control initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • This role will manage preparing and reviewing loan documentation and life of loan servicing functions while providing support to a variety of tasks related to the loan process.
  • Activities will include independently processing, closing and servicing loans within a complex loan operations environment.
  • Strategic professional who anticipates and designs changes to business systems, processes and tools within loan documentation .
  • Leads and manages a large/complex loan team with responsibility for the full range of the function.
  • Provides direction on leadership and people development for the team.
  • Champions change initiatives, mobility, diversity, training, cost, compliance, and risk & control initiatives
  • Determines strategic approach and is responsible for implementing functional loan strategy
  • Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation
  • Partners with other Citi Product businesses such as cash management / treasury, etc. and strives to meet clients' needs
  • Often develops new concepts and approaches to solving issues affecting business/ geographic region or a major segment of it
  • Maintains detailed understanding of the business and applies industry and market knowledge to drive improvements within the functional area
  • Reviews and analyses data on loan productivity and efficiency; makes strategic decisions on solutions and improvements; presents recommendations to organization and senior management
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, influences and negotiates with senior leaders (across functions) and articulates complex recommendations
  • Builds credibility and trust with the senior management team across the regions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years of managerial experience
  • Individual must be accountable, ethical, results oriented, trustworthy and credible.
  • Reasonable knowledge of Business Processes, Systems and Tools used in the Loan Process is required
  • Advanced understanding of Loan Processes, Procedures, Products and Services
  • General awareness of managing, preparing, and reviewing loan documentation
  • Expert in identifying, mitigating, managing, resolving, and escalating risks and issues
  • In-depth awareness of risk types, policies and control measures and processes
  • Comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and adhering to Policies


Education:
  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred and managerial experience
