In support of this mission, Vantor is seeking a cleared Systems Engineer who is looking for an incredible challenge. We are building a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment to provide full lifecycle support of compute, network, and storage infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate in a multitalented team in support of the environments, support, sustainment, and growth activities. You will work with a dynamic team consisting of Linux Administrators, DevOps & Infrastructure Engineers, Systems Engineers to support computational design elements of high-performing Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and harnessing that power to feed into the new Platform. Location: Herndon, VA The Systems Engineer will: - Install, configure, and sustain Linux operating systems, application software, and system management tools. - Assist in the design and provisioning of the enterprise network environment. - Prepare and deliver both program and user level documentation for system operations. - Provide technical systems support for project activities. - Monitor for performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. - Interact with members of the technical team leads. - Understand the current system, subsystems, and component specifications and be able to use experience to recommend changes to facilitate efficient and effective development. - Communicate and share expertise within and across the client's organizational boundaries. - Work both independently and in small groups Minimum Qualifications: - Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI polygraph. - Bachelor's degree in network engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or related technical field. Relevant professional experience can substitute in lieu of degree. - Minimum 3 years' experience in the following technical areas: - System Administration or systems engineering in a Linux-heavy environment. - Experience supporting DevOps Infrastructure - Experience in the build, operations, and sustainment of LAN/WAN networks - Experience Implementing DOD Cyber Security requirements. - Experience with physical compute and networking hardware - Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and evaluating alternatives to solve complex problems. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate's experience, expertise, and alignment with the role. • The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $95,000.00 - $127,000.00 - $139,700.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
