  • Install and uninstall hardware and software, both COTS and custom.
  • Manage configuration, build automation, and release engineering.

Full Job Description
THE WORK
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Hardware and software installation / de-installation (COTS and custom software)
  • Configuration management, build automation and release engineering
  • Fault detection and fault isolation
  • Volume backups, system monitoring and clean up
  • User support and working knowledge of internal/external network interfaces

Basic Qualifications

  • Configuration management and change management experience using tools such as Git, ClearCase, and ClearQuest
  • The ability to write scripts in at least one administrative language
  • Linux Operating System knowledge, ability to solve end-user computer system problems, while working independently in a lab environment
  • Candidate must be able to obtain CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance at the SECRET level
  • Ability to Travel


Desired Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux across multiple major releases (6, 8, and 10), including system administration, package management, kernel tuning, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
  • Experience with Rational ClearCase tools supporting the software configuration management (SCM) processes
  • Proven experience designing, provisioning, and managing scalable cloud-based infrastructure services (compute, storage, networking) using IaaS solutions, with a focus on automation, cost optimization, and adherence to service-level agreements
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation, data parsing, system orchestration, and development of custom utilities, with an emphasis on writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
  • Strong command of Git for source-code management, including branching strategies, merge workflows, repository maintenance, and collaboration practices that ensure code integrity and traceability across development teams
  • In-depth knowledge of Ansible for orchestrating complex deployments, writing reusable playbooks, managing inventories, and implementing idempotent configuration-as-code practices to accelerate provisioning and ensure consistent environments
  • Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi installation, configuration, and administration, as well as integration with vCenter, virtual networking, storage provisioning, and performance monitoring within virtualized data-center environments.
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification: Comprehensive understanding of foundational cybersecurity principles, including network security, risk management, threat analysis, cryptographic concepts, and best practices for securing systems and data in accordance with industry standards.
  • Knowledge of RMF Compliance and familiarity with DISA STIG's
  • Familiarity with all facets of system administration including; tactical environments, network operations, user account creation and management, security OS patching as well as security auditing

  • $75000.00 - $142760.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
