Linux Systems Engineer

Position Overview

SNS One is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical environment in Chesapeake, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for engineering, integrating, deploying, and sustaining enterprise Linux solutions within a secure, cyber-compliant infrastructure.

This role requires a strong background in Linux systems engineering, automation, virtualization, and Tier III support. The ideal candidate will have experience working in Agile environments and developing automated solutions to improve operational efficiency, system administration, and sustainment activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design, engineer, deploy, and maintain enterprise Linux environments.
  • Support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in production and development environments.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions using Ansible, scripting, and configuration management tools.
  • Create and maintain Ansible playbooks to streamline system administration and deployment activities.
  • Perform Linux system integration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and sustainment activities.
  • Provide Tier III operational support and root cause analysis for complex technical issues.
  • Support virtualization platforms and shared storage technologies.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity-compliant solutions in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, administrators, installers, and sustainment teams to implement technical solutions.

  • Experience with Linux integration, engineering, and administration.
  • Strong experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible automation and playbook development.
  • Experience with Linux scripting, including Bash, Python, or Shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting virtualization technologies and shared storage environments.
  • Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation.
Preferred Qualifications
