Lead Unix/Linux Engineer - Remote
We are seeking a Lead Unix/Linux Engineer with 8+ years of experience to support secure OS-level authentication, enterprise identity integrations, privilege models, and Linux baseline hardening across a large, complex enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SSSD, Linux authentication, Kerberos, LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory integration, PAM, sudo policies, and automation.
Required Skills - 8+ Years
- Strong hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting System Security Services Daemon (SSSD), Linux authentication and enterprise identity integration
- Strong hands-on experience with Kerberos, LDAP, and Microsoft Active Directory (AD) integration
- Experience with RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu
- Experience configuring PAM stack
- Experience managing sudo policies and Linux privilege models
- Ability to troubleshoot:
- Authentication failures
- Caching issues
- Domain join problems
- Cross-realm trust issues
- Familiar with Linux baseline hardening and secure access patterns
- Knowledge of secure OS-level authentication and access-control patterns
- Familiar with Endpoint Privilege Management solutions
- Automation and scripting experience with one or more of the following:
- Bash
- Ansible
- Puppet
- Python
- Ability to support identity and authentication services in a large, complex enterprise environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting enterprise IAM or privileged-access-management programs
- Previous experience operating in a lead or senior engineering role
