Salary Range: $90,000 -115,000 (depending on experience)

Overview:
This position is for individuals with 1-4 years of experience in lighting design. As a Lighting Designer you will be supporting the design team and projects in all aspects and phases. You will work alongside the design team in preparing documentation to present lighting, testing and validating the design with mock-ups and calculations, and having a key role executing technical documentation. While primarily a supportive role you will be expected to offer design input and owning a space in the growing studio.
Key Responsibilities
Design Complexity:
37Apply advanced concepts and solve complex problems independently.
37Create specifications for medium and complex projects.
37Perform lighting calculations, analysis, and rendering studies; use results to inform decisions.
37Document lighting layouts in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
37Assist with lighting mock-ups and design presentations.
37Support design presentations and construction documentation for architectural lighting projects.
37Take responsibility for lighting calculations and building certification compliance credits.
37Provide technical assistance on design, installation, and integration issues for innovative lighting solutions.
Construction Administration:
37Review submittals and respond to contractor inquiries during construction.
37Produce meeting reports and punch lists.
Other Duties:
37Occasional out-of-town travel for project work or site visits.
37Support marketing efforts.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
37Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
37Strong presentation skills.
37Expertise in design software: Agi32 , AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, InDesign, Bluebeam.

Qualifications
37Experience: 1-4 years' experience in architectural lighting design
37Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Lighting Design, or a related discipline.
Certifications:
37Working knowledge of energy codes.
37Lighting Certified (LC) through NCQLP. (preferred)
37Professional society involvement and/or industry leadership. (preferred)
