Full Job Description
WE ARE

Supply Chain & Operations - and we move fast, think fast, and work fast. Our Fortune 500 clients in life sciences, med-tech, and advanced manufacturing demand more than incremental improvement; they need partners who can redesign distribution center operations from the ground up, build the data infrastructure to sustain those gains, and lead the capital programs that make it real.

Our practitioners combine deep operational expertise with consulting discipline - translating complexity into clear value cases, running rigorous simulations, and staying accountable for outcomes long after design is complete.

YOU ARE

An operations and logistics engineer who has done the work - not just advised on it. You have redesigned live distribution centers under cGMP or regulated conditions, built the simulation models that justified the investment, and managed capital programs from concept through commissioning.

You speak the language of warehouse flow, automation systems, and regulatory compliance, and you know how to translate operational insight into a financial value case that wins executive sign-off. You are ready to bring that credibility into a consulting environment and accelerate impact across a portfolio of clients.

THE WORK
  • Lead operational assessment and redesign engagements for life sciences and regulated distribution centers - diagnosing inefficiencies in material flow, storage utilization, labor models, and automation maturity.
  • Design future-state DC layouts and material handling strategies (ASRS, AMR fleets, automated labeling, pick-and-place) and quantify ROI through structured value cases tied to throughput, cost, and compliance outcomes.
  • Build and run simulation models and process analyses to validate design decisions, stress-test capacity scenarios, and support client leadership in capital prioritization discussions.
  • Lead capital project workstreams - managing design milestones, commissioning activities (IQ/OQ/PQ), vendor coordination, and regulatory readiness across FDA/EMA environments.
  • Partner with client IT, Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to ensure integrated solutions meet operational requirements and pass inspection without findings.
  • Develop operational readiness plans, staffing models, and KPI frameworks that sustain performance post go-live.
  • Apply data and analytics (dashboards, automated reporting, process metrics) to surface opportunity, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement culture with client teams.
  • Contribute to business development by shaping points of view, developing proposal content, and bringing credible operational stories into client conversations.

Job Requirements:
  • Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in warehouse, distribution, or logistics engineering roles - with direct accountability for operational outcomes, not just advisory support.
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing brownfield DC operations: redesigning flow, improving throughput, reducing cost, and implementing change in a live operating environment.
  • Experience designing new or expanded DC facilities, including floorplan development, material flow definition, and integration of automation systems.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (12 years) work experience

BONUS POINTS IF
  • Life sciences, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry experience - particularly in cGMP environments with FDA, EMA, or comparable regulatory authority exposure.
  • Proficiency in data-driven decision making - including process simulation, capacity modeling, time studies, and KPI dashboard development (Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or equivalent).
  • Experience developing value cases for capital investments - translating operational design into financial projections that support executive approval.
  • Track record managing capital projects or major operational programs, including milestone accountability, vendor management, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment.
  • Experience leading commissioning and qualification activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for warehouse or manufacturing systems.
  • Familiarity with WMS or ERP systems (SAP EWM, Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or similar) and how system configuration intersects with operational design.
  • Lean or continuous improvement certification (Green Belt or higher) and demonstrated application of lean principles in an engineering context.
  • Experience building and leading small technical teams - developing junior engineers and establishing operational best practices.
  • Interest in growing consulting skills: structuring problems, developing client relationships, and contributing to a high-performance delivery team.
