JOB PURPOSEThe Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Rehabilitation Center in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations governing long-term care and post-acute care services. The Nursing Home Administrator provides leadership for facility operations, clinical support services, financial performance, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, resident satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
The LNHA serves as the executive leader of the nursing center and partners with clinical and operational leaders to ensure the delivery of exceptional resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with CMS regulations, Medicare and Medicaid requirements, and state survey standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Direct and oversee all aspects of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Long-Term Care operations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including CMS Requirements of Participation, Medicare, Medicaid, and state survey standards.
- Maintain ongoing survey readiness and lead the facility through regulatory surveys and inspections.
- Provide leadership and oversight for department managers, clinical teams, and support services.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary leadership team to ensure quality resident care and positive clinical outcomes.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support census growth, quality improvement, employee retention, and financial performance.
- Monitor and manage facility budgets, labor expenses, operating costs, and resource allocation to achieve organizational goals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement systems, healthcare regulations, long-term care operations, and nursing facility management.
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives and performance improvement activities.
- Ensure protection of resident rights and promote a culture of dignity, respect, and person-centered care.
- Build and maintain relationships with residents, family members, healthcare providers, referral sources, hospitals, community organizations, advocacy groups, and government agencies.
- Represent the facility in the community and promote the organization's mission and values.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing leaders and staff.
- Analyze operational, clinical, and financial data to improve performance and achieve facility goals.
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
- Foster a positive culture focused on employee engagement, customer service, accountability, and operational excellence.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES- Comprehensive knowledge of Skilled Nursing Facility, Rehabilitation, Post-Acute Care, and Long-Term Care operations.
- Strong understanding of CMS regulations, Medicare, Medicaid, state survey processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of healthcare administration, nursing facility operations, reimbursement systems, quality measures, and resident care standards.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans and achieve organizational objectives.
- Proven financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish productive relationships with residents, families, employees, physicians, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREDBachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Long-Term Care Administration, or a related field required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREDMinimum of two (2) years of leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care Facility, Post-Acute Care Center, Rehabilitation Center, Hospital, or related healthcare setting.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAWCurrent and unrestricted Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) license in the state where the facility is located.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health, or related field.
- Experience leading a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Long-Term Care Center, Rehabilitation Center, or Post-Acute Care organization.
- Demonstrated success with survey outcomes, quality measures, census development, employee engagement, and financial performance improvement.
- Multi-site or multi-department healthcare leadership experience preferred.
