Responsibilities:
We are currently hiring for a full-time Mechanic to provide maintenance support at our Burlington Manufacturing plant.
- Constructs, maintains, and tests mechanical equipment, machinery, and components
- Strong Knowledge of oil pumps and cooling/heating systems
- Create, repair and install machine guarding
- Ability to detect, troubleshoot, and repair irregularities and malfunctions in production equipment
- Fabricate parts as required, do overhauls, and changeovers/set ups as required
- Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
- Dismantles machines and equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Complete documentation/paperwork as required
- Communicate with Supervisors and Managers on safety or process related issues
- Adhere to plant safety rules, health and safety policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Must possess an Ontario Certificate of Qualification, Red Seal Millwright 433A License
- Preferably 2-3 years trade experience
- Experience in an extrusion equipment environment is an asset
- Available to work 8 hour day shift but must also be available to work rotating days, nights, and afternoons and overtime as needed
- Strong written and oral English communication skills combined with excellent attendance
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and safely
- Knowledge of CMMS systems, excel, Microsoft Windows/Office
- Secondary Trade Qualifications and/or experience in Electrical, Welding, or Pipefitting are definite assets
- Knowledge of PLC's.
- Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, bend, twist, lift, use hands, finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly lift and/or move more than 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
