About the Role Reporting to the VP, Business & Legal Affairs (based in London, England), the Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing excellent, solution-oriented, proactive and collaborative business and legal affairs counsel to WildBrain's Franchise brand management and marketing teams.
Job Description- As a member of the global Business & Legal Affairs team supporting WildBrain's Franchise and marketing teams, and working in a fast-paced environment, serve as a trusted legal partner to the Franchise and marketing teams around marketing campaigns, content creation, promotional events, sponsorships, influencer partnerships, talent engagement, social media activations, giveaways / contests / sweepstakes, and reviewing and drafting the various ancillary agreements to support.
- Monitoring marketing regulations, advertising standards and data protection regulations, and translating into practical advice in support of marketing and brand campaigns unique to kids-focused marketing.
- Apply sound judgement to manage and resolve time-sensitive escalations quickly and effectively to support the business unit's ambitious objectives.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with WildBrain's business units to support brand management and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications- LLB/JD, and member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
- Ideally 1-2 years of industry experience in entertainment/media, marketing and advertising; in-house experience at a global brand is considered an asset.
- Proven legal and business judgement to make effective decisions and problem solve.
- Positive, professional team player who can work independently, reliably and efficiently.
- Proactive, creative, and practical solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent drafting, time management and organizational skills to consistently deliver high quality, reliable work while meeting tight timelines.
- Curiosity and a desire to take on new and exciting challenges in a rapidly evolving environment.

Total Rewards At WildBrain, we strive for equitable and consistent pay practices within a robust total rewards framework. Compensation may vary within the same role based on experience, performance, specialized expertise, and overall impact.
Compensation: $140,000 - 155,000 CAD (with bonus eligibility). Base salary is part of a comprehensive total rewards package that includes:
