Full Job Description

Learning & Development at Securian is evolving to enable dynamic, capability-driven learning across the enterprise. As a Learning Experience Designer - Compliance, you will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of Securian's enterprise compliance learning portfolio while serving as a key learning partner to Compliance, Legal, Risk, and related business stakeholders.

In this role, you will translate regulatory and organizational requirements into effective learning experiences that support understanding, application, and compliance. You will also partner with stakeholders to identify learning needs beyond required training, recommend effective solutions, and connect teams with broader Learning & Development resources and expertise.

This role is ideal for a learning professional who combines strong instructional design and program management skills with an ability to build relationships, navigate complex requirements, and balance compliance obligations with an engaging learner experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Compliance Training Program Management

  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and other stakeholders to understand regulatory requirements, business needs, and learner needs and translate them into effective learning solutions.
  • Design, develop, deliver and maintain learner-centered compliance learning programs for new-in-role and annual required training using instructional design, learning experience design, and adult learning principles.
  • Consult with stakeholders to clarify learning needs, intended outcomes, audiences, and requirements and recommend effective approaches that balance compliance obligations with learner experience and learning effectiveness.
  • Shape and evolve the enterprise compliance learning strategy and approach by applying learning expertise, learner insights, and emerging practices.
  • Coordinate implementation activities, communications, assignments, timelines, and stakeholder engagement required for successful enterprise delivery.
  • Establish and monitor success measures, using learner feedback, completion data, stakeholder insights, and other available measures to evaluate effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain learning content and programs to ensure they remain accurate, relevant, accessible, and aligned with evolving business and regulatory requirements.

Learning Partnership, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Serve as the primary Learning & Development partner for designated stakeholder groups, building strong relationships and developing an understanding of their priorities, challenges, and evolving learning needs.
  • Consult with leaders and stakeholders on learning requests, recommend appropriate approaches, and connect partners with broader Learning & Development resources and expertise when needed.
  • Facilitate select virtual and in-person learning experiences, workshops, and programs.
  • Partner across Learning & Development, learning technology, and other enterprise functions to deliver cohesive and scalable learning experiences.
  • Contribute to broader Enterprise L&D priorities and projects based on organizational needs and individual skills, experience, and areas of expertise.
  • Leverage learning technologies and emerging tools, including AI-enabled tools, to improve efficiency, scalability, and learner experience.
  • Contribute to the evolution of Enterprise L&D by sharing insights, improving processes, and advancing learning practices.
  • Stay informed on learning trends, emerging technologies, and relevant practices and apply new ideas where appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in Learning & Development, instructional design, learning program management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting compliance, regulatory, legal, risk, or other required learning programs.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and learning experience design.
  • Demonstrated experience developing digital learning content using Articulate 360 or similar learning development tools.
  • Experience managing learning programs or projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Strong communication, consulting, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to independently manage priorities, identify issues, and move work forward in an evolving environment.
  • Experience using data, feedback, and other measures to evaluate learning effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage work where accuracy, consistency, and timely execution are critical.
  • Strong learning agility, curiosity, and continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide compliance, regulatory, legal, risk, or governance-related initiatives.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled tools or other emerging technologies to enhance learning design, development, or delivery.

The estimated base pay range for this job is:

$59,400.00 - $109,200.00
