Learning & Development Program Manager | Columbia Hospitality

The Learning and Development Program Manager is an experienced learning professional responsible for leading the delivery and continuous improvement of key learning and talent development programs across Columbia Hospitality. This role manages an assigned portfolio of programs and projects, serves as a lead facilitator for leadership and professional development experiences, and partners with stakeholders to identify needs and implement effective learning solutions.

Working within a lean Learning and Development function, the Program Manager combines program ownership and learning expertise with the hands-on execution needed to keep initiatives organized, measurable, and moving forward.

Your Impact

Program Management and Learning Solutions
  • Exercise primary responsibility for assigned learning and talent development programs, including establishing program plans, determining implementation approaches, prioritizing resources, addressing risks, evaluating results, and making program improvements within established organizational objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects, managing plans, timelines, stakeholders, dependencies, deliverables, risks, and communications.
  • Manage programs such as Certified Trainer, SuperTrainer, mentorship, CH Academy offerings, leadership and professional development programs, and other assigned initiatives.
  • Partner with leaders, People and Culture, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to identify capability and development needs and recommend practical learning solutions.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and emerging organizational needs; identify opportunities and recommend or implement improvements within established strategy and objectives.
  • Provide clear program updates, insights, recommendations, and decision points to Learning and Development leadership.
  • Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in evaluating organizational learning needs, selecting appropriate solutions, establishing program priorities, resolving complex program issues, and recommending changes that affect enterprise learning and talent development initiatives.
  • Advise Learning and Development leadership and operational leaders on matters that may affect leadership capability, team member development, program effectiveness, organizational consistency, and the allocation of learning resources.

Facilitation and Learning Delivery
  • Serve as a lead facilitator for Columbia Hospitality leadership, management, professional development, and enterprise learning experiences both remotely as well as in person.
  • Facilitate engaging virtual and in-person workshops, cohort experiences, leadership discussions, skill practice, and other interactive learning experiences.
  • Deliver established curricula, including Fierce Conversations, Certified Trainer, CH Academy courses, and other assigned programs virtually and in person.
  • Apply advanced facilitation techniques to encourage participation, manage group dynamics, guide meaningful discussion, and adapt delivery to audience needs.
  • Partner with other members of the P&C and leadership team to pilot, evaluate, and refine learning experiences and support consistent facilitation standards.

Measurement and Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and maintain evaluation processes for assigned programs and initiatives.
  • Analyze participation, completion, learner feedback, program activity, and other available data to assess effectiveness and identify trends.
  • Translate program data and stakeholder feedback into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Create and maintain Learning and Development dashboards and recurring reports that provide visibility into learning activity and program performance.
  • Monitor the impact of program improvements and adjust approaches based on results, feedback, and evolving business needs.

Learning Operations and Stakeholder Partnership
  • Maintain the operational infrastructure required to successfully deliver assigned programs, including schedules, communications, enrollment, materials, facilitator preparation, records, and follow-up.
  • Manage Learning and Development resources and learner-facing content within Dayforce Hub and other learning platforms, ensuring information remains accurate, organized, and accessible.
  • Build effective partnerships with property leaders, People and Culture partners, operational leaders, facilitators, and subject matter experts.
  • Lead meetings and working sessions, establish expectations and timelines, and coordinate contributors to keep programs and projects moving.
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person training logistics, including field-based delivery and travel as needed.
  • Resolve issues within the scope of the role and elevate matters with broader strategic, policy, budgetary, or organizational implications.


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Learning and Development, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Hospitality, Education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in learning and development, talent development, organizational development, program management, leadership development, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing learning programs or cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation and evaluation.
  • Significant experience facilitating leadership, management, professional development, or other adult learning programs in both virtual and in-person environments.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation practices, learning program design, and program evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with stakeholders, identify development needs, analyze information, and translate findings into practical learning solutions.
  • Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, and balance program leadership with hands-on execution.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365; experience with Dayforce or similar HRIS platforms, learning management systems, survey tools, project management platforms, and reporting tools preferred.
  • Ability to travel up as needed to support facilitation, program implementation, and field engagement.
  • This position is based on site at Columbia Hospitality's Seattle Support Center, with up to 50% travel
