Full Job Description
Status/Term: Regular, Full-time
Classification/Salary: Administrative Officer R24 / Position starts at $80,703.86 annually
Team: People Development
Location: Flexible (work from home 1 day a week after passing probation)

The Role:

As a Learning and Development Advisor at CLBC, you will lead an organizational learning portfolio and be responsible for full-cycle instructional design, facilitation of learning, and development of programs and courses, as well as ongoing course/content maintenance. You will ensure that departments and regions support and drive organization-wide learning through their ongoing activities.

Key responsibilities:
  • Engaging with internal organizational clients to determine learning/training needs and collaboratively develops strategies for continuous quality improvement in training delivery that support the strategic plan, vision and values of CLBC.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Manager, Corporate Learning, fellow Learning & Development Specialists and/or other members of the Organizational Development & Change Management teams to continually refine best practices in training consultation
  • Analyzing and synthesizing information from SME, PPMO office and project leads to understand training requirements
  • Researching information to determine, apply, and promote best practice within the organization in terms of development and delivery of adult learning as required
  • Creating necessary resources to support learning and development, including but not limited to: learning guides, learning/job aids, facilitation guides, training manuals
  • Delivering effective training to adult learners using various training delivery methods that include (but are not limited to): classroom-based, virtual classroom, eLearning, discussion forums and blended learning modalities

What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, with education in adult learning
  • A minimum of two years' work experience designing, delivering and facilitating training
  • Experience in project management considered an asset
  • A relevant equivalent combination of education, work experience and training may also be considered
  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess the BC Instructor Diploma or similar qualifications or endorsement

We're also looking for an advisor who has:
  • Knowledge of: adult education principles, concepts, methodologies and techniques, how to deliver training 1:1, as well as small and large groups both in-person and virtually
  • An understanding of basic principles of project management and change management
  • Working knowledge and understanding of content authoring tools (e.g. Articulate, Captivate)
  • Understanding of virtual training environments for technical systems/software-based courses
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, computer competence and the ability to use media effectively
  • Ability to influence and work effectively with all levels of the organization
