Your Impact

Splunk is looking for a dynamic, results-driven Solution Engineering Leader to lead and inspire a high-performing team of pre-sales Solution Engineers passionate about large enterprise customers in the Energy, Healthcare, and Retail Verticals! In this role, you'll be a critical force at the intersection of technical depth and business impact - partnering with Sales leadership to shape strategy, win pivotal deals, and help the world's most complex organizations transform with the Splunk platform.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who thrives at the pace of enterprise sales, loves building and developing teams, and gets energized by technically complex, high-stakes deals. At Splunk, we move fast, care deeply about our customers, and show up for each other - and we're looking for a leader who embodies all three.
• Lead, coach, and mentor and foster a culture of technical excellence, customer focus, and continuous learning
• Own talent outcomes - proactively identify, retain, and develop top performers while managing performance decisively at every level of the team.
• Deliver meaningful annual performance reviews using the skill/will methodology, and partner with each SE to build and execute ambitious individual development plans.
• Attract and recruit world-class SE talent - raise the bar with every hire.
• Partner tightly with Regional Sales Managers and Account Executives to build bold territory strategies and pursue the deals that matter most.
• Oversee and participate in technical discovery, solution design, proof of concept (POC) engagements, and executive presentations
• Ensure the SE team delivers compelling, differentiated demonstrations of Splunk's platform tailored to Energy, Healthcare, and Retail use cases (e.g., fraud detection, operational resilience, OT/IT convergence, supply chain visibility)
• Lead from the front on complex, high-value enterprise deals - driving technical win strategies that differentiate Splunk and close business
• Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the Energy, Healthcare, or Retail industries - including regulatory landscape, key business drivers, and common technical challenges
• Show up as a credible inspiring leader and trusted escalation point in vertical-specific technical conversations
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Industry teams to influence roadmap and messaging based on customer feedback
• Align with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Channels to ensure a seamless customer journey from pre-sales through adoption
• Represent the SE organization in business reviews, forecasting calls, and leadership meetings
• Be a relentless advocate for the customer internally - translating field insights into product and process improvements that actually move the needle

Minimum Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a related pre-sales technical role
• Must have 3+ years of people management experience leading SE or technical pre-sales teams

Preferred Qualifications
• Consistent track record supporting large enterprise accounts in Energy, Healthcare, and Retail verticals
• Strong understanding of data platforms, SIEM, observability, or security operations - Splunk experience a strong plus
• Experience with networking, server, application, virtualization, big data, and web technologies.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both executive and technical audiences
• Experience managing POCs, RFPs, and multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles
• Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people; challenge and lead people toward their peak performance.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud, or ITSI/ES or Observability
• Experience working in or alongside channel/partner ecosystems
• Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience
• Able to travel up to 30%
