The Lead Staking Engineer serves as the primary technical expert for staking related work. This role provides support to Staking Engineers and other Engineering employees. The Lead Staking Engineer will handle complex and large-scale projects such as subdivision design and DOT road relocation projects.
Essential Functions:
- Advises and counsels members and prospective members on all matters pertaining to services, including new service extensions, relocations, upgrading, temporary loads, and other types of requested installations.
- Performs staking duties, as necessary, to keep appointment waiting time down to the preferred length and to cover absences and leave requests.
- Reviews and approves staking sheets, cost calculations, contract information, rate class, and all other member information.
- Keeps informed on specifications of distribution line construction as recommended by RUS, NESC, and other applicable regulations.
- Serves as the Cooperative's representative on all DOT, highway, and county road projects. Works with State of Oklahoma Highway Department, County Officials, and the appointed engineering consultants.
- Serves as the Cooperative's liaison with land developers of new housing additions to be added in the service territory.
Training and Experience:
- Technical degree preferred.
- Staking certifications highly preferred.
- 5-8 years' experience working in utility industry or related field.
